Hi! Doing a little planning... I've seen what the photo packages at Shutter's run, what do the individual photos run? Also- typically, what does the "drink of the day" run? Save, save, save!!!
Thanks-
:)

Hi Lostgirls:wave2:
Most drinks of the day will run you $3.50..:drinking1
I can't remember the cost of the photo's as it has been 2 years since our last cruise and would guess that the prices have gone up since then..:yo-yo:

we did a 10 photo package for something like $85 or $89. That was for the 6x8 pics. I think individually they might have been $10 each, I am not sure on that though. Drink of the day was usually $3.50. Konk coolers were 4.50 or so. Yummy!

The 8 X 10 pictures cost $19.95 and there are no "packages" for these. However, if you buy 3 of that size at one time, they will give you a free folio and 8 X 10 photo of the ship.

As for the 6 X 8 pictures, they are $9.95 each, or a package of 10 pictures for $85. If you buy the package and don't have 10 by the end of the week, they will credit you back the difference between the cost of the pictures and the cost of the package. This happened to us. We ended up with only 6 8X6 pictures, but MANY, MANY of the 8X10s.

The drink of the day is $3.50.

What are these pictures you are buying? Is there a photographer on the beach? On the boat? Are you buying them for yourself or to pass out?

Thanks everyone!

jrp,
are we on the same cruise (May 7 Western)? I was noticing our countdown clocks are the same number of days.

DWD,
I was inquiring about the cost of the pictures the ship's photographers take. I'd just be buying them for us, not to pass out. Just trying to do some advance planning!

I wonder why they don't just make the pics as 5x7? Are there frames that can fit those 6x8 pics?

DWD - a great example of the pictures is the one in SeaSprays signature line.

They have professionals on board that will take your picture boarding the ship the first day, at dinner one night, and in the past when you were getting off at some ports (not sure if they still do this). In addition they take candid shots at the pool (especially the Mickey pool), on the beach at CC and around the ship. They also have backdrops you can pose in front of each night (like in SeaSprays signature) and will take your picture with the characters. Bring your own camera as well because there is usually a castmember that will take a picture with your camera right after the professional.

They also have a photographer who comes to your table if/when you dine at Palo. On my web site, I have some pictures of some of the professional pictures from our cruise. Here's a link directly to that page: http://terry527.home.comcast.net/html/DCL souvenirs 2004.htm

P.S. It was my husband's idea to have ALL of us pose for a professional picture wearing Mickey ears. LOL Poor DSs weren't thrilled, but they cooperated anyway. :p

We've cruised on Royal Caribbean also, and they too make some of their photos in a 6X8 size. They sell 6x8 frames right on the ship, but of course they aren't inexpensive. When we cruised on RCI in 2003, I remember finding 6x8 frames in Kmart and Walmart, but when we got back from our DCL cruise last month, neither of those stores carried them anymore. We had bought a couple of 6x8 frames on the ship, but then I ended up using an 8x10 frame with a 5x7 mat. I didn't check out any craft stores or frame stores, so maybe you'd be able to find some, somewhere else.

hi
lostgirls & JRP

looks like we are all on the same cruise 5/7/2005!!:Pinkbounc

i have been trying to get my budget together too & knowing all the little costs really helps

Thanks for the help. For some reason I thought Shutters was a film developing shop and it just kept coming up, how much to budget...I was lost.

Thanks, SeaSpray. I'll start looking for some 8x10 frames w/ a 5x7 matte. And I can probably ask the characters to sign the mat as a remembrance.

Shutters DOES also develop film, and will take your digital camera memory card and "develop" the pictures for you, and/or put the pictures onto a CD. They also sell memory cards. :)
