cost of wedding

The most basic wedding package Disney offers is called an Escape wedding which is a ceremony and cake and champagne reception. There is a rather strict limit of 18 guests (however, 2 of the locations can only accomodate 8 guests). I believe the 2010 price for this package will be $4750.

It includes...
-ceremony site (5 to choose from... the wedding pavillion costs more though)
-floral for bride and groom
-2 tier wedding cake and bottle of champagne
-violinist
-wedding planner
-2 Annual Passes
-2 hours of photography
-4 hours of limo service

I think that basically sums it up. You can add things to the package but can not subtract anything. Check out www.disneyweddings.go.com for all the info! Hope that helps!

We managed to keep our 30 attendee wedding bill from Disney to around $13000 (once we got our refund).
We had our ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, beautiful floral, a filet & lobster entree at lunch, an expensive cake (IMO), several dozen bride and groom chocolate covered strawberries, limo, rolls royce, & a charter bus for our wine & cheese party (with full bar) at EPCOT.
I can't remember the exact amount because I can't seem to find my BEO.

Oh my gosh, if you find it can I have a copy?! This gives me so much hope for mine! (I'm planning on 30 to 40 people) I would be soooo happy with $13,000. Nicely done!

WOW That's amazing! You need to post how you did that! I hope you can find that BEO!

That BEO would have been with the old minimums right? SO it would have to be higher now? Did you use Disney for photos and videos?

DD14 told me her wish is to have her wedding at Disney. Wish I had known at the time of her birth. I could of started saving then. :laughing:About the time she is ready to get married I sure hate to see how much it will be. :scared1:

I told her we would do our best to swing it but it will have to be the bare minimum. Very basic. Considering the cost to get there and plus DH and my resort room, so on.

Sure would love to see her get married at Disney World. On the beach. That would be lovely. Not sure exactly what her wishes are. Besides, she has to finish high school. She is only a freshman.

Don't worry - there are many of us who have been able to have more than basic weddings for the minimum requirements. When we got married, the minimum was $10,000 and we were only $69 over it.

I spoke to another Disney bride last week who ended up being under the minimum and still had a gorgeous Epcot wedding. :thumbsup2

So you have time to save still! In comparison to an average cost wedding,, Disney is not too far off, and you really get more for your money. It IS comparable to what youd do at home.

Lurkyloo- you had outside vendors too right?

We had a minimum of $10,000 based on the time of year and the fact that we got married on a Tuesday. Did our wedding during the day to save money on the reception minimums.

We used outside vendors for photos (Randy Chapman) and video (Cinema Chic).

I'll keep looking for the BEO, but I did a pretty thorough search and I couldn't find it.

Maybe it's on my old computer that I gave to my mom...

Thanks. Guess it is time to store away as much money as possible. Gave oldest DD her dream wedding have to try to do the same for youngest. Even though youngest is quite a bit more elaborate. :thumbsup2:)

Ok, I found some information and posted it to my MobileMe site so people could have a boo at it.
What I was able to save and upload is my Estimated Budget. It's not the final one, because we added the bride and groom strawberries after this, and I think some fruit skewers for our Wine & Cheese party.

I mis-remembered a few price points, (such as how much our plated dinner cost - cheaper than I remember, but then we had SO MANY 'special' meals, you will understand why).

When you see the final total, subtract about $2000, which was our refunded deposit and extra money back for overbudgetting on the bar and the fact that most guests used their park hopper tickets earlier in the day so we were able to subtract the viewing fee for those guests. I had to bring it up with our event staffer, but it saved us a couple hundred bucks.

Anyway, here's the link. Hope it works! It'll expire in 2 weeks. Just paste it into your browser, and the file should download to your computer.

Between you and Carrie, Tabetha I have hope for my BEO!! Thanks for posting that :thanks:

No problem. As a matter of fact, here's my Floral Budget, just so you know what that money went to...

Same deal. Copy and paste this into your browser, and the document (Excel) should download.

I completely agree with this. If it were my first time around, I would probably go with an Escape or Wishes wedding, but since it is a VR, we decided to use DCL to save some money. This is always a more budget friendly option, and it is still just as beautiful.

Also, being a wedding photographer, we see a lot of weddings, and know what most of the vendors in our area charge. We live in a small town, and there are not many nice options to choose from - especially when it comes to locations. Many times we have seen brides spend anywhere from $10,000-$25,000 on weddings that were less than memorable due to some of the vendors such as florists and caterers (the dreaded rubber chicken), reception halls, etc. IMO, I would much rather see that money go to a remarkable Disney wedding!!
