Cost of Trading Pins??

I'm trying to budget for my DS spending. He would like to start pin trading when we go to WDW in Oct. I am just wondering what they charge for the pins and if there are different price ranges? I'm guessing the Limited Edition pins cost more?

If you are going to trade them, you want the cheapest possible. Check cheappins.com..sometimes they have starter sets. Or eBay. Check our your Disney Store..we bought 100 pins at .71 each there at their sale, and traded them all for "good" pins. You sure don't want to buy limited editions or fancy pins jus tto trade them.

From what I understand, you can trade any pin that has the "Disney" insignia on the back. I haven't tried this yet, though. If you go to the DS sale they had this past weekend (probably still going on), they had a small bin of the 75% off pins. Each pin was like 1.12. You could trade these with any CM's pins on their lanyards in WDW. I just bought the double sided HM pin from WDW at it's retail price of 10.50. I believe most of the smaller pins are a few dollars less than this one.

I think that you can buy a "My First Pintrader" lanyard ... it inc. the lanyard and some pins. Someone on the Collectors Trades/Wants board could def. help you out more w/this!!

Prices on pins sold in the park vary, dep. on the size of the pin (mini, small, med., lg.) and whether it's a Limited Edition. I think most pins start at $6.50.

Def. check your TDS for sale pins and trade those w/the CM's.

I posted on your other thread too -- but as another thought -- look under the DS.com web site under Savings and Last Chance. They have a NICE LE1500 9 pin (Dalmation) pin set for approx $15 per set!
Even as traders, that is a good price for good pins!!
The original cost of that set was at least $60.
Get them while they are still available! I bought a set as a gift.
