Last year it was $33 not including tip. Does this price still sound correct? We used Yellow Cab.

Renee, I don't have the price info...but was that ONE WAY?

Why would you opt for a cab, just out of curiousity?

I agree. For that much money, rent the car for the week. That way you can visit I-drive, SWF, plus the grocery stores.

Renee if you dont want to rent a car (we never do) you can get a town car for $35 each way (when using the coupons they offer) and get a free 1/2 hr. shopping stop! That would only be $2 more each way than the cab option. Much nicer than a cab and they are there waiting for you in baggage.

Thanks for the suggestions, but:

This is my "gal-pal" trip, no kids or dhs. We're only there 4/3-4/6 (I wish a week!) We always rent a car when we go as a family. There will be 2 of us sharing the cost of the taxi. I considered the towncar but comparing $$:

Taxi ($33+$7tip each way) x2 = $80
Town car $75+$20 tip, RT= $95

Molokai Gram and I shared a yellow cab from the HRH to MCO last year and it was very clean and the driver was very nice. I planned on requesting a "yellow cab" taxi at the airport.

JessicaR: The cheapest towncar I could find was $75RT using the coupon ($5 off a rt).

Hi nhrenee,
If you are considering to use town car, please look into FL TOURS.
www.fltours.com our rate is competitive above all, we'll make you feel like a Rock Star. We're the official transportation company to this site
Thank you for your support.
Andy

Do the cab services like yellow taxi charge a flat rate or are you charged by how long it takes to get there?

Most taxis including yellow cab charge by the meter. The way meter taxi works is both by distance and time. In other word, if you get caught in a bad traffic and happen to stand still, the meter would be ticking resulting in a higher rate than otherwse would be the case. It would take about 20 min.

Ummm, can anyone answer the taxi question?:p

AndyN - Just wanted to let you know that I had seen your ad on this site and checked it out. We are planning on using your service when we come in December. I've already printed out the coupon off of your website. As soon as we make flight ressies, I'll be calling y'all to reserve our ride. There will probably be 7 of us, so we'll probably need a van.

Just wanted you to know that people were looking at your ad.

Um...no

sorry...
But for one other suggestion, what about Mears? I always used to use them to Disney, and they charge a flat rate, one way or round trip...I know to WDW, they cost about $25 round trip per person...

If you don't get an answer, I'll give yellow cab here a call and see what they have to say! :)

Wow Renee, how can you remember the cost, let alone what kind of caab it was??? It must be my age...I don't remember a thing! Have to admit I am impressed. I hope someone can answer your question. When are you going?

Hi Donna!!Beats me why I remember that. I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday. We're going April 6-8
But for one other suggestion, what about Mears? I considered Mears. I used them to get to the HRH from the airport. It was great for 1 person and only cost around $14. Guess I just didn't want to stress about the possibility of them being late picking us up at the HRH. Thanks for the suggestions though. I really do appreciate them.:D

No problem, Renee...but that is their business, it's what they DO! Usually, they have a pickup time scheduled that is WAY earlier than you want....and I've always had them be there. They generally have several other hotel stops to make on the way, so they schedule it accordingly. I'd have more faith in them being on time than a cab, but it's your vacation! :)

Nowadays you have to schedule so much time at the airport that it would be very tough to be late, I would think

Ok, Renee, since you insist on taking a cab  I called Yellow cab for you. It's not a flat rate (they run the meter) and they said it would be $35-37 each way approx. Now, I still think you ought to take Mears from the airport TO the HRH, and make arrangements to take them back. If they don't show up ontime, there are taxis sitting there at the Hardrock waiting to whisk you away to MCO, right? ;)

Either that, or go for the towncar, you can't beat the service, and if a taxi is going to cost you $37 perhaps, you may as well ride in style. I took a taxi once from the airport to MCO and I felt like I had been robbed after always using mears, I considered it a "live and learn" experience.

I wish I could offer you guys a ride, but we have a pickup truck with jumper seats and it's just not adult friendly back there.
