The cost of the brunch is somewhere betweenb $40 - 52/adult. Has anyone done it recently and can give an idea of the total with tax and gratuity I'm looking at? I'm with 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 9) and we are doing the brunch on a Sunday at 12:30pm, Aug. 20th. Just trying to budget for this trip and the price seems to vary depending on where I look. Thx!

They do seasonal pricing and your date is still summer so probably just expect the highest price for whatever ranges you see. I don’t know kids meal pricing, but your 12 year old will be charged full adult price unless someone pixie dusts you. Anaheim sales tax is 7.75%. It’s been a while since we have done character dining but I think they just tacked on an 18% tip when we did Goofy’s last.

We did brunch at Storyteller's with a party of 6 a little over a week ago. Two were kids, but both were 10+, so they were charged the same as adults. $51 per person before discounts, tax, and tip. I was surprised to find they did not automatically add gratuity.

They added gratuity last time I was there but was not recent. Very tricky since the receipt also leaves the spot open for you to add more gratuity. Can end up double tipping if you don't read closely or maybe depends on who rings it up and party size?

We've been at Goofy's and they added tip and that was quite a while ago. Everything I've read says they add tax and gratuity so maybe the above posteer missed they already added due to the open spot (which I did notice too at Goofy's)?

I have receipts (since we were splitting the bill later)! 🤪
Maybe gratuity is baked into the $51 per person cost? Since I didn't see it listed as a separate line item, I added tip. :confused3 20230626_123241.jpg

Thinking back on this, I think it is Goofy's that always adds the gratuity. I feel like neither Plaza Inn nor Storyteller's were set up that way. Maybe it has to do with them both not being strictly buffet venues all day long.

Thank you for that. Very helpful to budget. Just won't show my husband the bill or he'll keel over.lol!

Note that, on your receipt, you were taxed on the discounted amount. The suggested tips, however, were calculated based on the original tab (not including discount or tax), as they should be. That isn't always the case at restaurants.

Maybe it was PCH grill that also adds gratuity, but that is moot now.

I dined with my 7 year old 2 weeks ago on a Saturday and it was $91.98 for the two of us with a 10% Magic Key discount (1 adult, 1 kid 18% gratuity, no extras.) HTH

Have you tried initiating a reservation to see the cost? I just made one for this Wed, July 12, for 2 adults and the cost was $59 each. I don't know whether or not we'll be going yet so I'm not sure of the total costs.

I wanted to hop back on and add that you will be charged the adult price for your 12-year old. They asked if my son was ”under the age of 9” and yes, he was. Not sure how stringent they are being for the 9-year old’s. Something to be aware of just in case.

Yes, I know the 12 year old will be adult and the 9 year old child, just didn't know the exact cost of either plus tax, etc. I have a reservation and it doesn't say anything about cost on eithr the email or when I log in.

what's the difference between gratuity and tip?
Sorry if that sounded flippant. Sometimes a business will automatically add a gratuity to the bill, especially if it's a larger party or a special venue. If the gratuity is as much as you would normally tip, you don't need to add anything further. If you feel that an additional tip is warranted, you can leave one but you don't have to feel obligated to do so.
