Cost of On-Site Resorts....

Damo is right, find out about the Ent. rate before you buy the book. You don't need it to make your reservation using the code. HOWEVER, if you do that you will have to show the card at check in............. so you'll need to buy the book, but wait until about a month before your trip............ maybe you can get the book cheaper. AND you don't need the orlando book, any book will work. ( last year I waited about a month before our trip and got the $35.00 book for $15.00)

I just went to the ent. site below and it states that all books are now $10.00............ I'd buy one now!!!!

www.entertainment.com has the books available to purchase.

Once we decide on our dates, .. I always go ahead and book my rooms, ( we have the AP) it doesn't matter how far in advance it is, and if I find a cheaper rate, then I call and change it........ Good Luck

I don't think the entertainment rate I got was bad at all. Dec 12-15 for $119.00 per night at RPR

I also need help in finding a decent rate for RPR. We are going Aug 4-7 and the best rates that I see anywhere are $220/night for std room. I just called about the entertainment rate and there are none for this time period. Does anybody have other suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

I just went to entertainment.com and searched for loews hotels and came up empty....strange

Can anyone tell me where to look to find the Loew's discount on the entertainment website.

We will be going to Universal in Feb 2005 and want to stay on site. The best rate I have found was 189/night for RPR (using FAN and AAA). I also signed up for LoewsFirst to see if that discount would be better (nope, but there are some perks)

If I could find a rate like 119/night, I would jump for joy!! I would be willing to buy the entertainment book in a heartbeat!

OK, I just called 1-800- beastar and asked about the entertainment rates for 2005, she said they are not yet available and to check back in the end of May. Hope this helps someone!

$175 for AAA rate and $153 for annual passholders rate. You can find these online at www.loewshotels.com

Is it true that Loew's never offers the Entertainment rate through their website?

For the first week of August, the best I've found so far through the website is AAA at RPR. I'm still hoping for the HRH but there are no discounts whatsoever for them, at least not yet.

I am planning on going to universal b4 the disney cruise. Do you know of any good deals for dec 22-26, actually we are leaving for the cruise on dec 26. how can I find out what the entertainment rate will be. would they list it now? thanks for your help? Front of the line woudl be great esp sonce AI'll have 2 young children who wouldn't be able to wait in a line. I mostly need for the shows , they don't really go on to many rides.

I just saw on hotel kingdom. royal pacific for an avg of 169 during dec 22-26. is that a good deal. should i book or wait for better rates. will there be better rates for that time. thanks for your suggestions

Planogirl,
I originally was quoted an ENT rate through the Loews site, when I called LOEWS direct to book (prefer that to online) it was actually about $14/nt cheaper than the ENT rate that was online! Best thing to do is to keep trying for a good rate, I have noticed rates opening up & also then being unavailable for my dates, so obviously they change often with availability.

Entertainment rates are not posted on the website. $169 is a good price but you have to pay upfront when you book with hotel kingdom.

Oops, sorry Planogirl if I gave you incorrect info. I assumed when I entered ENT for the promo code on the website that the rate quoted was an ENT rate.....thanks for clarifying that damo:D See why I love this site!

What is the AAA discount? Is this just a discount code that I enter on the Loews website? Do I need to show anything at check-in? I'm sorry for not knowing what this means!!!

Anyone want to help me???
We are doing Universal only this time Sept 25 to Oct 2. I'll probably buy the AP. Can anyone find me a deal? 2 adults, 3 kids under 8.
Thanks, Marilynn

Cabmom I just played around with your dates for all 3 resorts and didn't do very good. Keep checking though because when I could not get a good rate for RPR a few months ago I kept trying and finally I got it for $119 with the AP discount.

Cabmom, the best thing to do is call the resort you are interested in, ( usually the RPR is the most economical) and ask if your dates are available, then ask what the rates are for the AP, Ent. etc....... and go from there.

Spalma,
AAA is the auto club (American Automobile Association). You can go to www.aaa.com to join online or I'm sure there are local offices near you to call. The prices vary depending on the coverage plan you choose.

It has been my experience that yes, you will have to show your AAA membership card at check-in to get the AAA rate. Hope this helps.

spalma, we have booked 2 nights at the Royal Pacific for August 1st and 2nd through the Loews site and using the code FAN. We're paying $164 a night. We will have to show a Fanclub card at check-in - you can find out how to acquire one through these boards (or PM me)

When we booked we also applied to become Loews first members which means we can ask for a free upgrade when we check-in and also a free gift eg wine or cookies. This was easy to do through the website. (If you read these boards you will find that it seems to be a bit hit and miss whether you get these privileges with a discounted rate but it's worth asking!)

We've done all this from the UK, mainly on the internet, and without the help of people on these boards we would never have even considered it!

Booked the HRH for June 15/16 using entertainment rate at $174 a night pool view. Yet the web site says rediculous numbers like $119, which is at off peak times of the year and garden view. Unless you're staying at RPR at off peak times, I think the $109 days are gone. Most got those kind of rates two years ago, and now they've gone up.
Agree, the best thing to do is call over and over. Sometimes a good rate "magically" happens when you're on the phone. Gee, my computer shows a room just opened up at the rate you want. Wow, what timing. The web site doesn't know you're shopping around, but the human on the phone does, and somehow, they push a button, or finally give in and let you have the low rate you're searching for.

i am concerned bc x-ams week is prop very busy and if I wait too long I might get nothing. I know i could pay alot less off-site but the front of the line is such a plus. Should i jsut book the 169 w royal pacific (thru hotel kingdom or wait) what would you all do?
I mostly need FOTL for shows. My kids really don't do too many rides (they r young) is it worth it still.? Please help. I'm getting so confused. thanks for your help.
