Hi, NEVER been before, not sure what is there so need to ask. I am allowing $100.00 for 1 meal for sure, maybe 2 and a snack at the parks. Not anything spectacular like Mythos, thought Margaritavile would be nice, but might not make it with that much allowed. 2 adults and 1 child going. Does Margaritaville allow spliting of meals?? our daughter is 11 and her and I do a good job at splitting meals. can someone help, or should I add an extra $50.00 for just in case?? Thanks Mogs PS: lunch would consist of counter service, maybe a pretzle/pop for snack and maybe Margaritaville for dinner-?? that is questionable though. But if I did this would I have enough or not.

Sharing counter service meals should be about $20-$25 for lunch (2 adult meals) and another $15.00 for snack. That leaves about $60.00 for Margaritaville. I would say that should be enough although I've never eaten there -- I have three very small daughters who just won't sit still for 5 minutes, let alone the time it takes for a sit-down meal, LOL. You may want to budget an extra $20 or so just in case but I think $100 should be enough.

If you read the post above under IMPORTANT:MENUS you will find menus and prices for the hotels and parks. This will give you an idea of exactly what to expect.

I strongly suggest eating lunch at Mythos. The food is wonderful and not expensive at all (compared to restaurants at city walk).
Meals at Mythos run in the 12-19 range, meals at Margaritaville 11-17.

Universal Menus

BTW this isn't a vote against Margaritaville, we really enjoyed our meal there. However Mythos is a true dining experience.

I think Mythos would be great, but we are not going to IOA, just Universal, and I know they will give you a dining pass, but Mythos closes to early for us. 3-4 if parks close at 6? I believe I heard that someplace. We could do margaritavile after park closes, then not wasting park time. Thanks. Some day maybe we'll get to Mythos.

You can always order pizza! $17 for a large pizza can feed a family.

I eat there all the time and I spend like $10 on food.

I get a $6.47 Personal Pizza, $2.15 piece of Cheese Cake and a $2.15 drink refill. So $10.77 and I get 20% off of that.

Food is expensive at any theme park, if I could make a suggestion eat big before you go. If you drive to the park bring a cooler, and at lunch go to the parking deck and eat in you car. Make sure you get your hand stamped before you go.

That might be a funny suggestion above but people do that I have seen them as a family eating from a cooler in the parking deck. Most people don't go on vacation to blow the family fortune on food.

That is a very good idea, even if it does seem odd. It's a major money saver. I know when I've gone to parks I've always done something like bring/get the souviner cup and get the discounted/free refills or get a soda bottle from like 7-11 and refill it with water throughout the day. Often when I went with my family we would bring a bag or so filled with small snacks/sandwiches and can sodas that we'd munch throughout the day. It works!

If you find yourself not wanting counter service for lunch, we love Finnegans. We aren't big on counter service foods, so I haven't even tried any at US or IOA. We actually ended up eating at Mythos for lunch both days of our last trip.

Just wondering why US and not IOA. Most of my family (dh is the exception) enjoy IOA more.

Everyone on here is so great, not sure what I would have done if haven't found this site. :) Our daughter wants to ride the rides, and we are only coming over for one day from Disney, so decided on this park. Her favorite movies are at Universal. We cannot eat at car, as we are having a town car service drive us to and from but the bag lunch with goodies in it sounds like a great idea. Didn't realize we could do this. Thanks again everyone--a tremendous help you have all been.
