We are staying at BWI so we chose Cape May for our 1st night. It would be a real treat for us to add Lobster or Crab legs. Does anyone know the cost? Was it worth it???

Well if I were you I would cancel those ressies!! Being a fellow New Englander this is just my two cents... We ate there in March because the advertisements in all the elevators show crab legs and they are one of my favorites. The seafood part of the buffet consisted of shrimp, steamers and maybe one other seafood. I asked our server about the crab legs and she said they stopped those a while ago. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I just chalk it up to the fact we in NE know what a clam bake is and it does include lobster and steamers...

I am from Boston and the seafood is awesome but I love CAPE MAY! Not because of the seafood because there isnt much on it but the regular food is awesome!

By the way, they do not have crab legs or lobster on the buffet and they do not offer it for an additional price

No crablegs or lobster available there at any price in Dec. 2006. BTW-we were pretty disappointed in our meal there. We had been there before in 1997 and loved it-it has changed a lot since DDP.:sad1:

This restaurant is an absolute must everytime we go to Walt Disney World. As for the list of seafood described above I have to comment that Cape May Cafe does not serve "steamers", they serve steamed clams. As a New Englander, I assume you know the difference, but some on these boards may not. Look below for what they serve at Cape May as far as seafood goes:

Farm Raised Clams with Garlic Butter
Prince Edward Island Sound Mussels with Roasted Tomato Butter
Seasonal Fish du Jour
Steamed Peel & Eat Shrimp

Just wanted to throw in my opinion as this is one of our favorite places to eat.

The crab legs and lobster are, as is hinted at in this thread, no longer offered as an add on.

DH is from NJ and grew up on littlenecks...he can eat them until the cows come home and he said they are littlenecks and they serve them with plain butter as well. Arent littlenecks and clams the same thing????

While littlenecks and steamers are both clams, they are most definately not the same thing. I for one do not care for steamers, but have been known to put a pretty big dent in the Farm Raised Clams with Garlic Butter (A/K/A Littlenecks) that are offered at the Cape May Cafe. Definitions below:

Little Necks (or littlenecks) are the smallest commonly available size of
east coast hard shell clam. They're named after Little Neck Bay on New
York’s Long Island, once an important clamming center. Littlenecks are
the best choice for eating on the half-shell (raw) because they are the
tenderest and sweetest. They're also great steamed, roasted or on
spaghetti.

The soft-shell clam is also known as Manninose, long-neck
clam, steamer, fried clam, Ipswich clam, and belly clam. Its shell is so thin
and brittle that you can easily snap it into pieces with your fingers. The
entire clam is too big to fit inside its shell. The siphon (also called the
snout or neck) hangs out.

I am a big fan of the steamed littlenecks at the Cape May Buffet. Nothing against SJUGuy, but the dents in the clams that I make at the buffet have been considered legendary.

We have eaten at Cape May many times but just returned last weekend and ate there during our 2 week trip to WDW. We have decided to remove CM from our list of regular places to eat (we take 4 trips to WDW a year, so eat many meals there). While the food was OK, I was sadden to see that the hot spicey steam shrimp has now been replaced with cold salad peal and eat shrimp. The hot shrimp was there in Feb, so wasn't prepared to see it gone in April. While the battered fried fish was good and the other choices were OK, there's no real draw there for me anymore. We have used the DDP for our last 5 trips for 2006/2007, so can use that TS credit elsewhere. BTW--we are at Coral Reef twice this trip and the meal was great both times. The servers seemed more comfortable with the DDP usage too than during past trips when we encountered more inconsistencies.
