Hi! I am staying in a studio at OKW and I'm thinking that my mom and I may need to wash our clothes once or twice. Does anyone know how much it is for a box of laundry soap in the laundry room? If it wasn't much I didn't plan on packing any in my suitcase.

Saving space is always good :)

I will be there in October I would like to know this answer, too !

My first trip there ( in a studio ).

It used to be $1 for a small box of powder (maybe 2 loads' worth). Since we now have to pack liquids in checked luggage, I find it easier to bring a travel-sized container of Tide (Target). :)

Yes, but I hate to spend any of my vacation $$$ on laundry soap.

We bring the travel size from Target and pack in the luggage. Double bag the goods in case of spills.

It's proabbly a dollar or two, i would imagine.

Somewhere I read that you could use dish soap in the washing machine. Just a small squirt and it makes a lot of suds. I have a friend whose mtoher always used dish soap to wash their clothes because it was cheaper, usually smelled nicer than regular laundry soap and made lots of suds! Maybe bring a small bottle of dish soap with you (or do you get dish soap in the studio?? In a 1BR you do). Or how about bringing some of those laundry soap tablets?

This is a tip from another poster and it really makes things easy enough. I have a small box of Tide powder I keep for trips. I put one loads worth of soap in a zip loc bag. I figure how many loads I might do, put them all in one larger zip loc bag and then put the same number of dryer sheets that I need in there with them in the big bag. It does not take up a lot of space and I don't have to worry about buying the soap. I can tell you on our last trip in August it was a $1.00 a box from the machine. The box of Tide I bought washes 30 loads and cost $8.00 in Target.

I go to the laundrymat before we leave and buy a few boxes of Tide for 50 cents each. It is the same size that is $1 at the world. :woohoo:

I give the Mouse a lot of money. I'm not going to pay them double for soap too! :rotfl:

If you're flying, just a side note to packing certain items. With the airlines charging 25 bucks for a checked overweight suitcase, be careful trying to save a buck by stuffing that suitcase. On our return flight this year, my DMIL had over-the-limit luggage and the only thing she brought home that she didn't take down with her was two coffee mugs. One bag each way. Well, I guess there could've been some extra dirt on the clothes, but wow, 25 dollars! OMT, she decided not to take anything out of the suitcase to lighten the load and forked over 25 dollars.
