how much is the cost of a campsite (for tent camping ) per night? And is the dining plan available if we are tent camping? Thanks!:yay:

The partial hookup sites vary in cost depending on time of year.

The 2007 rates for partial hookup are as follows:

$41 Value
$58 Regular
$67 Peak
$45 Pre-Holiday
$78 Holiday

Fort Wilderness
Value Season: January 1 - February 14, July 29 - November 15
Regular Season: April 15 - July 28
Peak Season: February 15 - April 14
Pre-Holiday: November 16 - December 19
Holiday Season: December 20 - December 31

Yes, the dining plan is available for purchase when staying in the campsites.

is the dining plan available like the DVCers? Or is it only with a pkg that includes tickets?

It is only available with a package that includes at least a 1-day ticket.

that's what I figured. Now I just need to decide if we will camp (it will be our 1st time ever), or should we stick with a hotel!:)

what does a partial hook mean? If you brought a tent do you keep it set up everyday? What do you do with the tents when you go to the parks? Is there alot of theft? I know this sounds insane, but my kids want to go camping and I just don't know where to start learning about camping at WDW.

Is there is a camping at WDW for Dummies thread?
Thanks

Partial hookup means electric and water right at your site.

Yes, you leave your tents and all your stuff set up for your entire stay.

No, theft is not a a widespread problem.

However, do keep valuables locked up in your car, on your person, or at the front desk lockboxes.

Your tents, coolers, chairs, towels hanging out, etc. should not be a problem.

If you bring bicycles, lock them to a tree or lock them at the bike racks at the outpost and settlement areas.

There are many, many threads on tent camping here. Just poke around and do some searches.
