Cost of Buffet Breakfasts?

Anyone know what the costs will be at Tusker House and Ohana for breakfast at the end of January?

We are on the dining plan, but need to pay for one TS meal OOP. Originally, I figured we would pay OOP for Skipper's Canteen because we have the dessert party right after that and wouldn't need the dessert. But, then I saw that we may be able to swap appetizers for the desserts and there were some there that I'd like to try. And you know, a cocktail would be nice too. So I thought perhaps one of the buffet breakfasts instead, but not sure what they actually cost. We'd probably spend $130 to $140 at Skipper's if we tried some appetizers (but wouldn't get a cocktail if paying OOP). We have 4 adults and one child.

A character breakfast buffet will cost more than Skipper's Canteen.

It depends. I've seen some prices that make it look pretty even between the two, but I could get cocktails at Skipper's. That's why I was looking for something more concrete than what I'm seeing online.

allears.net gives price ranges. Figure you are going when the prices may be at the lowest, TH should run you about $30 per adult and $18 per child and 'Ohana about the same (maybe $1 or so less).

There is a sticky thread at the top of this board called "Buffet, Characters, Shows, AYCTE pricing". The price is in there and is updated as prices change. It looks like 'Ohana breakfast is $34.08/adult and $20.24/child, and TH is the same.

If you're looking for decent food at a good price for an OOP meal, I would recommend brunch at Trail's End. It was fantastic.

Where did you see this? That has never been allowed on any plan, and I've not seen anything saying they may change.

It is not allowed. At a Restaurant's discretion they may offer a soup or side salad for dessert, but not a full size appetizer

I just saw it on some posts here I think. I knew it wasn’t standard but thought it happened sometimes.

I wouldn't base your OOP decision on the very slim possibility of getting an app instead of dessert. As Pumbaa said above, what you've probably seen is people getting a side salad or veggie. The chances of getting an app on the menu are around 1-2%, if that.

As a follow up, looks like Skipper’s has a discount for paying with Disney Visa so we will pay OOP for that one. Do we just tell the server upfront about our discount? Is it 10%?
