I have narrowed down the options to this cs our MK day, but in reviewing posts on the site, most comment on the chicken/ rib platter and the hamburgers. My family will likely not order either of those options (dining at WCC one night so don't want to overload on BBQ and not really burger people) so is it worth it for us to face the crowds to go here? What else have other tried and liked?

Thanks for upcoming input!

You can log onto allears and find their menu to help you plan. I've had a turkey wrap w/ fries that was great!

Actually, CS is my family's favorite QS in the MK because they have such a huge menu AND we LOVE Sonny Eclipse...They also have an AWESOME condiments bar. ENJOY :yay:

I really like the chicken ceasar salad there. If it's really crowded though i would find another counter service. Alot of the crowd is for the chicken and rib combo. This is a great deal for a counter service credit.

Cosmic Rays is our familys fav counterservice in MK. I really enjoy their grilled chicken sandwich and fixin bar, burgers, chicken tenders, and rib/chicken combo. I have never had anything I did'nt like. And we always enjoy Sonny Eclipse.

I have to agree that Cosmic Rays is an essential visit for my family during every visit to MK.

There is a good variety here, although it can be a challenge to get seated. Sonny Eclipse is a real draw, very cheesy but myself & my Dad quote him all year round.

The chicken strips are nice here aswell, but you wil find something to enjoy I am certain!

We went for the first time last year and loved it. The food is regular Disney food, but liked the variety. The place was very big so there was plenty of inside seating. The hokey entertainment was hokey.

Enjoy!

Just a note that we once visited here after a night parade and not all the windows were open -- only the burger kiosk was available (which was okay with us as we were desperate ;) ). But normally, their menu offers good variety.

My daughter and I always share the turkey/bacon wrap. We don't like tomatoes though, so they make it special and sometimes it takes a few extra minutes. The condiments bar here is great! Love the hot cheese for dipping my fries in.

Different strokes. If I plan correctly, I can have bbq ribs 5 times on my trip and usually do.If you're looking for different, try Columbia Harbor House. I like to hit that on my other MK day. I get the shrimp platter that comes with fries and slaw. They have fish, chicken, tuna, and hummus. No burgers or ribs. No Sonny Eclipse either:sad2:

DH and I used to get the chicken but we tried the veggie wrap once and from then on, it was the veggie wrap for us. Very good. :goodvibes

I love Cosmic Rays. It's always a must do for me when I'm there. My 2nd favorite is Casey's corner. Love the mini corn dog nuggets...

Cosmic Ray's used to be our favorite MK counter service but the last time we went (on MNSSHP, Oct 28th to be exact) the food was just disgusting.
My mom had the chicken caesar and the bits of chicken were so slimy she picked them out. My burger was grayish, the bun was falling apart, and even loaded with mushroms and mustard it was just "blah". Fries were overcooked and tasted like mushy cardboard.

I'm one of these wacky people who have argued for a long time that the quality of food at WDW has not gone down - until that night at Cosmic Ray's. There was a HUGE difference compared to our previous meals there.

If you don't intend on getting the BBQ, I wouldn't bother walking all the way to CR unless you're already in that area. The chicken meal I had there several years ago was very good, but who knows what it's like now...

Hi! For our family this is why we love Ray's-we get the roasted chicken, mashed potates and vegetable meal-no BBQ. We really like it b/c nothing is fried. Also, DS3 has autism and  mashed potatoes. Plus, we sit next to Sonny and listen to his corny jokes and songs!

Cosmic Rays is one of our very favorite counter service places!!! As a matter of fact, when we first decided to go to WDW this time, my kids said they couldn't wait to eat there. I am a vegetarian along w/one of my kids and the rest of my family are meat eaters, so there is something for everyone. I look forward to the veggie wrap and burger as well.

The past few times I went to Cosmic Ray's I ordered the Chicken Nuggets. Before I would always order their Cheeseburger, however since the counter service locations started using the whole wheat bread I can't order them anymore because I hate it and it always falls apart.

1) MrsRustyScupper works QS in Magic Kingdom.
2) Her latest opinion is to visit Pecos Bill's over Cosmic Ray's.
3) Pecos Bill's, according to her, is better due to
. . . fixin's bar is ****** and better
. . . burgers are grilled on the flame burner machine
. . . seating is better, even though CR has seats for 1,100
. . . less crowded than Cosmic Ray's
