I don't remember it being dirty or particularly *sparkling* pristine. Just basic. I do remember not wanting my baby to crawl around on the floor but I'd feel that way in a five diamond resort hotel, too.
We did have a suite which I LOVED with small children. And I guess I'm a rarity at the disboards but I don't mind Motel type accomodations at all. In fact for cheap hotels I prefer the direct access to fresh air as opposed to sometimes icky smelling interior hallways.
Have a great trip!!!!
Thank you!
The only reason why I have a problem with Motel types is 2 years ago, my parents and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn (EW, NEVER AGAIN) and I know, it's a nasty motel to begin with, but my Dad picked it, and it was before I knew anything about hotels in the DLR area.. And it was one of the only places available that took dogs (we had our dogs with us)..
Anyways, our dogs got fleas. The room next us, somebody threw a cake (yep, a cake) at their door, and it was all smashed and gross on the floor outside. And that night (we only stayed one night) somebody (somebody who was drunk) started BANGING down our door at 3:00am. I was terrified!!!! My Dad had to hold the door down with his whole body while this man was trying to bang down the door yelling, Let me in!!!!.. OMG
We called the front desk, the police came, and then that same guy, went to the girl at the front desk and started yelling at her for calling the police! It was horrible. My parents were so mad we left that morning..
The next morning, our door was like off it's hinges.. Ahh.
The hotel didnt even comp us for what happened after much complaining to their corporate office..
Ever since then, I am hesitant about motel types
