We had dinner at CRT for our anniversary. After finishing our desserts, the waiter presented us with a chocolate slipper dessert with Happy Anniversary written on it. I was totally shocked and thought how nice it was that they did this. So we forced a little by eating the fresh fruit on the place but asked for a box to take the rest home. When he brought the box, he then brought a bill for the slipper! I commented that I thought it was CRTs gift to us since I hadn't ordered it. He just kind of laughed and said 'oh well' and walked away. So I paid for it just because I didn't want to spoil the evening. Well, we got back yesterday and I was reviewing the entire vacation to by coworkers and the boss asked if I liked the dessert he sent to our table. Turns out that he ordered and paid for the slipper dessert before we arrived. My question now is how do I get a refund for either myself or the boss and how did this happen??? Surely they had a record of it being paid for when it was ordered. Thanks for any advice.

You definitely need to write to WDW.Guest.Communications@disneyworld.com to let them know this happened to you. Here's what I'd write:

Attn: WDW Food and Beverage

On (Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - give the date, I just used this as an example), we had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table for our anniversary when something strange occurred during dessert.

Our server brought us a special Cinderella Slipper dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written on it, but he presented a bill for it at the end of the meal. We did question being charged for it since we did not order it, but he shrugged off our concerns and walked away. We did pay for it rather than spoil the evening.

When I returned from vacation, I discovered that my boss had ordered and paid for that special dessert as a surprise to us. Please advise us how to get a refund for one of the double-billings.

Regards,

I hope you get your refund. What a great boss you have! Happy Anniversary.

Thanks for the advice. I'll definetly write them. My bosses (Mr & Mrs) are great. They started by gving me a $150 gift card in an anniversary card before I left and then had s Disney basket delivered to our room. That's why I never dreamed they sent the dessert also. I love my bosses!!!

Oh go ahead, keep on rubbing it in ;) They sound great, it's really nice when the people you work for go out of their way to do something special for you, I completely agree.

Wow! Definitely write to Guest Communications about this one as the previous poster said. I don't know what their problem is at CRT. We went there for lunch in August. At the end of the meal, I was presented with a bill for the whole meal, even though I had paid by credit card at the time of booking in February. When I told the waiter this, he said "they probably had trouble charging your card so now you are getting the bill". But I distinctly remembered seeing the charge on my credit card statement months before. When I persisted and told him this, he said he would ask them to double check it. Sure enough, when he came back, he said yes, we had been charged and were all set, but if I had not remembered seeing that charge on my statement, I probably would have said ok and paid it a second time.
