Correct me if I am wrong? Selling fast passes?

Aren't fastpasses only good for the day you get them? AND for the time you are expected to return?

When we were there in November, we were waiting to board Mission: Space when there was a stoppage (someone got sick and they had to clean up). CM came over and handed us all Fastpasses that are good anytime. They had no date or time on them. We were also allowed to stay and wait for the ride to restart, which is what we did. We still have the FP's for next trip if we need them.

I think DH got some kind of special fast pass for Test Track when it broke down while he was on it. And again when it broke right before he was supposed to get on it. I don't think that pass had any expiration.

Just thinking another way here.....

A while back someone asked for anyone going to WDW to get & send him a FP for Mission Space because he was missing that one in his collection. So from that, I think that some people may just be collecting them as souveniors or collector's items.

Now that's not to say someone wouldn't try to scam and sell them but I just wanted to give another perspective on the subject.

Regarding the "special" fastpasses, I also have one, handwritten with a musical note stamp, for RocknRoller Coaster, which broke down and cost us in the front of the line a lot of time. They gave each party a fastpass with a handwritten number on it (number in your party). It was down until we left the park and it was our last day, so I held onto it - hoping it will be useful next time. The CM said it would be, we'll see.

By the way, I don't think they change the color, the color stays the same for each attraction, no?

We had four for "any ride in Fantasyland - never expire" when Pooh broke down while we were on it. Never used it though, it was our last Fanstsyland ride that trip, we moved on and lost the passes between trips.

And I've seen people turned away for "late" return times as well.

We have 2 sets of anytime fast passes for test track. 2 of them are purple and are good for anytime, anyyear. Had a CM hand them to us. We've used them before and never a problem. You go to the exit to use them. Plus we have 2 anytime fastpasses....these are fastpasses you are given when the ride breaks down and they have to get you off. They know that folks can't always use them right away, so they have no expiraction on them. Test track so far is the only ride we have received them for. So there are other fast passes around. There are VIP fast passes too. On dinosaur we are given fast passes for another time when the ride is having problems. Instead of each of us getting one, the CM will put a number on the fast pass to show how many people can use it.

When we were in Epcot a few weeks ago, a cast member gave my son a fastpass to any ride for four (the number of people in our group).

It seems he actually did something good when I wasn't watching. The cast member had a figment puppet who was wearing a pin trading lanyard. A little boy about 3 was all excited about trading with figment. But, his grandmother reminded him that they had not pin so trade.

My eight year old ds gave the boy a pin to trade with figment and walked away. I did not see any of this.

Later, in the imagination play area, a women comes up to me and asks if that boy is my son. I hate to admit it, but I thought.... oh no! what did he do now!

She told me the story and said the cast member wanted him to come back to see her. He went back, not knowing what to expect and she gave him this certificate. He was surprised!

It was nice to be really proud of him (instead of yelling at him)!

It was a handwritten one and sounds the same as what people get when the ride breaks down.

When we were there in October I was throwing away some fast passes that we had missed. A CM saw us a told us that if that ever happens again to keep them that they don't care about the dates....just the times. Now I have yet to try it but I have about 13 from that trip that I kept. I'll see if it works in when we go in June! I just keep them in the same place as our annual pass...we will see how it goes!

I'm sure they will work.

We just got back last night, and we used several old FP tickets. I had 3 from our trip in 2001. One was for Space Mountain which broke down while we were on it. When we went to the MK on April 2, I showed the CM at the FP entrance the pass and told her what had happened in 2001. She took they FP I had and gave me 2 others to give the CM at the end of the line.

On April 4, we used FP on Test Track that we got in 2001. Yesterday I used a FP for Mission Space that we got on April 4. Before leaving Epcot, I went to TT and got a FP to use on our next trip. When got the TT FP, we were also given a surprise FP for Body Wars that was good from 1:00-2:00.

During the 10 days that we were there we used FP a lot. Many times we were not able to get back during our time. Whenever we went back after our window had closed the CMs said it didn't matter when we used them. We just couldn't use them before the return time.

I have quite a few that we never got to use this trip. I plan to take them with us when we return this Christmas.

Wow.... when I think about the FPs I have tossed out or glued in the scrapbook that I could have used!..........................P

Well I've never tossed any, but I have given a lot of them away to people in the back of the line... almost caused a fight once with two families vying for my extra FPs. :) I never thought of saving them for future trips.
