Correct me if I am wrong? Selling fast passes?

I was just on ebay looking to see how much vouchers are going for because I am thinking of selling a couple of mine. Anyway, I noticed 1 ebayer was selling fast passes along with his/her vouchers...

Aren't fastpasses only good for the day you get them? AND for the time you are expected to return?

as far as I know, they're only good for the day they were issued.

That being said, I got a "baby swap" ticket on the Space Mountain for my DH, but when I got off the ride to swap with my DS, he said he didn't want to go. I went to the CM to give the ticket back, and he told me I could keep it and use it whenever I wanted on a future trip.

Unfortunately, it stuck to my sea world pass in my DH's wet wallet, so I can't use it now, but according to him, I could have used it again.

It is my understanding that fast passes are only good for the time they are issued. They have a time frame along with a date on it. Someone may be trying to scam someone that doesn't know the difference.

Surprise Fastpass?

I went to look at this auction on Ebay, just out of curiosity.

I noticed one set of the fast passes said "Surprise Fast Pass". What is this? It said Test Track on the top, then said it was good for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience?

Can anyone explain this to me? I've never seen these before!

I seem to recall that the fast passes change colors each day (the top strip). If my memory is correct, that would make it unlikely that you would hit the right day for that color, even if the CM wasn't paying a lot of attention.

This is when you go to a fastpass machine for a particular ride, and when you put your ticket in, not only does a fastpass pop out for *that* ride, but a second "surprise" fastpass pops out for a second ride. That happened to us last year at Epcot. I don't think they do it all the time, maybe just when they're trying to get people diverted to a particular attraction, so they offer surprise fastpasses for it?

That sounds great! Thanks, Tiffany!

I hope (but won't cross my fingers for!) that we have a little "surprise" like that on our upcoming trip!::yes:: ::yes::

We had a surprise fast pass for HISTA from Test track FP machine. The surprise window covered a *very* short timeframe....ours was 11.15-11.30! and when we got there pretty much everyone was in the fastpass line. I am sure its Disney trying to encourage viwing of an attraction at a lighter time of day. It certainly had a time to be used on it.

Yeah, I see now on the Surprise Fastpass on that Ebay auction the time to return was only a 15 minute window!

But, I also noticed on the Space Mountain FP the time window was 7:25-8:00, 35 minutes? I thought it was always an hour window, (except for the Surprise ones)??

Debbie:earsgirl:

They have been playing around with the FP system, it seems.

There is a fastpass that is good all day at Disneyland, a CM over ride pass, but I don't know if WDW has them. At DL they use them to make unhappy guest happier, to say thank you, or when your ticket won't work in the machine. But it says right on the back that you can't sell them.

The 15 minute window is because it's for a show and the FP is for a specific performance.

The FP window shrinks at the end of the day. MK probably closed at 8:00.

I know this isn't what the OPs post was about, but it does concern fast passes. When FP first came out (well, the first time we used it after it came out), someone gave us four FPs for a ride. Ever since then, we have gone out of our way to make sure we grab a fast pass for a "good" ride before we leave the park, then we find a family to give them to as we are exiting. I hope we have brightened up peoples' day by doing this, as I know we were very happy when we received our FPs!

Sell them or add them to a sale? NEVER! JMHO

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

My DS (then 17), and I went on a mother-son trip in 2002. We were starting to argue because he wanted to wait in a long standby line and I wanted to grab FPs and come back later (don't remember what for), and someone surprised us by giving us their FPs!! Now, we try and do the same!

Spread the magic!

Thanks, Lewisc!

That makes sense!

I think the person is trying to pull a scam. He or she says right in the ebay ad that the CMs usually check the time, not the dates. The seller is encouraging the buyer to try to scam Disney!

Personally, I would never buy from an ebay seller who appeared to be dishonest in any way. If they'll scam Disney, they'll scam you (the buyer) too, given the opportunity.

The CM's only check the times, to make sure you don't arrive EARLIER than the time listed. If you arrive later, they don't care, even if it's days, weeks, months or even years later!

Not true.

If you miss your window, they can turn you away from the FastPass line.

They (officially) CAN turn you away, but they don't.:p Can you imagine the guest anger that would be engendered?::yes::

It seems to depend on crowds. When we were there in March they were turning people away. We've not found that they were as strict before.
