Corporate Discount Program (long)

I found out today that the company I work for participates in a Corporate Discount Program. I didn't know Disney had started up something like this again. There are not any discounts on rooms (at least not yet, hopefully this will get added), but there are discounts on tickets and then some discounts offered for meals. I think the meal discounts are kind of like the vouchers that I have read about, but know I have some questions that hopefully someone can help me with.

1) The Quick & Casual Meal Certificate is valid for a complete meal for lunch or dinner at select restaurants. (all of them are counter service types like Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Rays, etc.) But what I need to know is how to figure out if I am getting a good deal. It says that the certificate includes an entree, side dish, non-alcoholic beverage and dessert. What do they consider an entree and a side dish at a counter service restaurant? I know most have different sandwiches and burgers, but most of them already include fries or something.

2) Character Breakfast - Adult. For $21.00 (including tax and tip) you get a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys, Princess Storybook at Epcot, and others. I looked on all ears and it had Chef Mickeys breakfast at $17.99. Is this still the correct price? If so then this wouldn't be a deal at all. BUT, if it was a good deal, exactly how does the "include tip" work?

Are you sure that Character Breakfast is not actually a Character Dinner? The Breakfast is cheaper than $21.00.

I'm pretty sure the vouchers you can purchase are the same as these, and there's a lot of information about them there. Also, it sounds like they can be purchased for less than through the Corporate Discount Program (i.e. breakfast for $18.25).

You have to know the prices of the foods you will be purchasing and where you will be dining to determine if you are getting a good deal. What I would do is go to the web site that has that (allears.net I believe) and look at where and what. Example fries do count as your side so most counter service is not a great deal. Caseys the vouchers cost more than the meal, no bargain. Counter service in Epcot becomes a better deal, etc. As for breakfast, remember the voucher includes tax and tip so once you figure out where and how much, add tax and 15% tip--have you broken even or are you ahead? If you can answer yes then they are going to save you money.

Thanks for all of the help. I looked again and the Character dinning for $21.00 was for Breakfast, not dinner, so that is not a good deal. I also looked at menus for most of the restaurants listed for the quick & casual dinning and the most expensive one that I could find the meal only added up to a little over $13.00 and the voucher cost $13.50, so you would actually be loosing money again. That is crazy. To imagine that there are people who just buy these without researching before hand if they are a good deal or not. Just like throwing your money away.

The vouchers would be a good deal for some meals considering the vouchers cover your tax and tip.

But, you can get these vouchers from one of the other sources (hotwire, connections, etc) for $18 and $11.50.
