My husband, son (age 9) and I will be staying at the CSR resort from Feb 8-12. We have never stayed at this resort and hope that some of you guys can tell us which room would be closest to the pool, Food Court, transportation?
I have a reservation for a water view but am told that sometimes you are put in a room facing a lake, not the pool. I'd prefer the pool. I also have difficulty sleeping in noisy areas. I'd prefer an upper floor room. Has anyone had success with these types of requests?
We are on the deluxe dining plan and am wondering if anyone has any recent feedback on the sit down breakfast at this resort.
Thanks to all of you for your assistance.

I'm a couple hours from leaving for CSR, but I've stayed there twice before, so hopefully I can help a little :)

The Cabana area, esp building 9 (9B to be specific), is IMHO the best located for everything. However, every area has its plusses. The Casitas can be very close to EL Centro and Ranchos area is close to the dig site, and tends to be the quietest area.

I have to warn you that a water view room at any of the Mods, is kind of a waste of money. Because there are outdoor walkways, your window doesn't really look out over anything. In most cases, the walkway blocks out most of any "view" you have. Just something to consider and that might be a few exra dollars to spend on fun stuff!

You can add requests to your reservation through CRO, but I've found it's just as effective to mention them as you check in (assuming you're not there at a super busy time). I think that most people would prefer to be on a lower floor, so I bet you get an upper, if you ask for it!

I hope you have a great trip!

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge (Most convenient location and most preferred).

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (Closest to the Pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

Thank you all very much. I've requested 9B based upon the feedback you guys have given me. I'm sure it will be beautiful. Thank you for mentioning the smoking issue with 9A. As a non smoker I'm sure the room still has an odor. I'd prefer not to have my breathing that in.
Also, unfortunately I had to go with a water view room, I'm told that is all they had left. Hate to pay extra if you guys think it wasn't worth it!
To all of you going to WDW enjoy your trip!

Mods don't have balconies to enjoy the view but it still nice to walk out and see the lake in the morning. Have a great trip!!

We had a preferred view of the lake when we stayed in Casita 5. It was worth the extra money in our opinion. A view of the lake is much nicer than a view of the pool. I'm not even sure any rooms actually overlook the Dig Site pool, though some overlook various quiet pools around the property. The lake is gorgeous at night. And being away from a pool will be quieter. So, don't be upset if your view is of the lake.

I also don't think there could be any rooms that have a view of the main pool. If you get a pool view, the room most likely will be overlooking one of the quiet pools. We've had beautiful lake view rooms in the Cabana area---the evening lighting of El Centro & the Casitas is wonderful from there.

Correct, no rooms have a main pool view.
