Coronado the best moderate resort?

We're leaving for there in 5 days - I'll let you know what we think too. I'm wondering about the "rowdiness" of conventions referred to above. We also are going for a convention and my experience with them (at other locations, not Disney) is that the place is usually dead. People are in meetings all day, then go out somewhere (or have company dinners, etc.) all evening.

Did you experience just people drinking in the lounges after or was it more spread through the resort? What exactly was happening?

cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge

cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.

cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above.

Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.

ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

Yes, let me know how you liked it.

I am not too concerned with the convention thing. I went to WDW 5 years ago for a huge convention, and it was at the BCR. now that convention is at the Dolphin, I believe. So, seems to me that these conventions could be at several of the resorts, and not just CSR.

I could be wrong though, I am definitely no expert.

I would be interested to know how check-in is at CSR? I am not certain if I want to do CSR or POFQ? I know the check-in at POFQ was a breeze.

Check in is basicly the same as any other resort.Had no problems what so ever with this resort, absolutly loved it.Pool is great and my 3 children enjoyed this resort.My ds says its his favorite and he was 11 at the time.If I didnt know that this resort was used for conventions I would'nt even notice.Its a large resort but loved the nice walks.Themeing is wonderful.Enjoyed our stay. Kids loved the playground and dig site and the snack bar at the pool.So I would say YES! great for kids.But thats just my 2 cents.

I am going for my first time next month, and I had actually not planned on staying at this resort, but I got a discount, and now after looking at the pictures and reading the reviews, I am VERY excited! Can't wait!

I just spoke with a former coworker, and he just returned from CSR. he had only positive things to say about it. We have definitely made our decision, and we are going to book CSR. I think the price is right, and it looks like it still has that "magic" feeling.

We have stayed at CSR several times..because events were being held there. We would never stay by choice. Our room has always been very run down, dirty carpet, walls, etc. I don't mean normal wear and tear between visits..I mean..in need of cleaning!!

The walk to the pool is horrible..especially on very hot days.

Food court..just ok..over priced.

On the upside..great bartender inside.

I agree with all this. Our last stay there will probably be our last stay there ever again.

We have stayed at CSR many times and we love it. We have never been bothered by any of the conventions that were going on while we were there. The pool area is awesome. No matter which building you stay at you can ride a bus to El Centro. The buses run about every 5 minutes. Some threads have people complaining about the long walks to get around, we always stay in the Ranchos which are the farthest away from El Centro so we ride a bus to go there and eat. Our rooms have always been clean. We like this resort so much we will be going to stay there on both our trips this year.The food at Pepper Market is great and we don't mind the 10% gratuity because we would leave that as a tip anyways. As for the busing service we have never had to stand on any bus.
