Do you think this would be a good choice with a 3 and 1 year old? How is the pool? How is the food court? I've heard really good things about the resort. Is there another moderate that would be better in your opinion?

Thanks!

We stayed at CSR in May of 2003. We stayed in Ranchos 7b which I really liked. It was quite a walk to the main building, but was very close to the Ranchos/Cabanas bus stop, the main pool, and the Ranchos quiet pool. The pool area is great. I am 27 years old and absolutely loved the slide. There is a large playground area next to the main pool also. I think the resort is great and as long as you are in the Ranchos or Cabana section you will see very little of convention guests. :thumbsup2

My kids absolutely loved it! It was hard to get them away from the pool. That's all they wanted to do was go back to the pool. I was telling them we didn't come all this way to swim, we can do that at home.

The resort is beautiful and very nice overall.

Coronado is our favorite!!!!:goodvibes
It always seems to be pretty quiet around whichever buidling we are in.
The digsite pool looks like it would be super fun - we seem to always us the quiet pool by our room instead.
We also LOVE the Pepper Market. The prices my seem a little high, but the portions are always huge. I don't think that I have ever been able to finish a plate here - and if I did, I was so stuffed I felt sick.

Coronado was the first moderate resort that we tried after always staying in a value resort. Let me tell you - We MUCH prefered the bus stops compared to the one and only bus LINES at the values. The stops are never very crowded, and if they are - there never seems to be more than two or three other people who will get on your same bus. The one exception may be the stop at the very front of the resort.

I hope you enjoy Coronado.

CSR is OK, but to me it doesn't have that Disney feel about it. It was our first moderate after staying at POP several times. Our family most definitely prefers POP. Pool has a slide - big deal. I much prefer the food court over what CSR has - nothing but problems trying to eat there. Sorry to be the lone dissenting voice, but I'd go with a value.

We just got back a few weeks ago from staying there with our 5-yo and 1-yo. The bus service was great - hardly ever had to wait, and always got a seat (except when coming back to the resort late at night). We only ate at Pepper Market once but it was fine - our 1-yo loved his chicken strips. Our older son loved the pool and slide. We did not go to the playground, though.

We were in Cabanas 9B and it was a great location - close to bus-stop #4 and a quiet pool and laundry. It wasn't too far to the main building or pool.

When we left, our older son said he wanted to stay in the same room next time!

I love CSR -- we were there in July with DS 12 and DD 10 and we all loved everything about it, including the pool, and will go back there. However, when my kids were the age yours are, we stayed at POFQ and I really suggest you look at that. The POFQ pool is just made for little kids -- it has the cutest water slide that is a magic dragon's tongue. It sounds weird but is adorable, and is great for the little kids. Find some pictures of it, sorry I am incompetent linking pictures. Parents can ride the POFQ slide with their kids, which you can't do at CSR. My kids now think the POFQ pool is too "babyish" for them but they still love it because of how much fun they had there when they were "little." Plus POFQ is a much smaller, less spread out resort and will be lots easier with little ones. You will be happy at either resort!

Our kids (now 19 and 21) always loved the Coronado. They said it was their favorite of all the places we stayed (and it is definitely DH's and my favorite as well). They loved the pool and playground area; they loved being able to go to the different stations to pick out what they wanted to eat; they liked the boats and they liked renting the bikes. Yes, the Pepper Market can be confusing, but after the first time it is pretty easy. You will hear a lot of complaints about how spread out it is. My husband and I always stay in the Casitas 4 or 5 building and it takes us about five minutes to walk to the Main Building and about four minutes to the main pool. A lot of people have been complaining about the CM's being rude. We had that problem once, years ago, and have not had it since. But I am sure that can be said of any of the hotels...we've had rude CM's at the Polynesian, the Contemporary and at the Port Orleans Riverside (perhaps it is because we weren't staying there and had to ask where the restaurant was...which turned out to be the worse meal we have ever had at Disney). It is all a matter of personal opinion and all you can do is try it and see if you like it and make your own opinion.

My thoughts exactly! And I love CSR too, our POFQ days are over until dh and I go it alone. My kids think that pool is lame now that we have stayed at CSR . But given the age of your kids, I would make sure you are okay with the larger, more spread out nature of CSR (and POR and CBR too for that matter). The cool pool slide is probably too much for them at that age and as ashef said, they have to go it alone at CSR not with you. Another thing I didn't like about CSR is that the main pool and food court are separated. You can order food from the pool bar at the main pool, but its a pretty limited menu. So if dining and swimming are things you like to do together, be aware its not as easy at CSR.

Still, CSR has lots of room for tots to run around in and the dig site and playground are great. I would just make sure you take your own stroller. Because you can have some rather long walks getting around this gorgeous resort.

great resort. we loved it, stayed in cabanas 9b next to quiet pool and great view of lake. buzz2001 has all the info you will ever need on this site. i highly recommend his advice. we enjoyed this resort over boardwalk from prior years visit. dont think any of the other mods compare from food, rooms, pool ect..........

Stayed at CS in June. Kids DD7 and DS3 loved it. The pool area was great and a favorite with DS. He loved the dig site and when he wanted a break from swimming went to play in the sand and climb on the jungle gym.

+1 for the CSR! Your kids will absolutely love it. The Dig Site pool has a small wading pool for your little one where you can watch your older one go down the Jaguar slide 300 million times! Best pool at WDW! Another reason why the pool is so great is that it has numerous W I D E stairs all around the edges. Younger kids can stand on the steps to be in the water up to where they're comfortable. And they can move around. Mugs are refillable poolside which the other Mods don't have. A play area is right there at the Dig Site. I couldn't recommend it any higher to you! Just request a room close to the Dig Site!

In terms of moderate level resorts, my first choice would be POR, followed by POFQ, CBR, and finally CSR. The reason CSR is last on my list is because I don't really care for Spanish architecture, but that is just my opinion. :)
