Some friends and I will be traveling to Disney in March without the kids. We are staying at Coronado Springs. We like to walk so distance is not too much of a factor. I understand the resort is quite spread out. I would appreciate your thoughts on which of the three areas (Casitas, Cabanas, Rancheros) would be appropriate. If you have a particular building in mind,I would love to have that info. too. Thanks

Gailelle'

We have stayed at CSR twice and we loved the Ranchos blg 7B.
It was a short walk to the main pool and to the bus stop and a little longer walk to El Centro across the little bridge. The view across the lake at night is absolutely breathtaking.
The Cabanas have the hammocks on the beach near the lake which are also very nice. All of the rooms are very silimar in size and layout but the decor differs slightly.
The main pool is great and so is the hot tub. Be sure to take some time during the day to enjoy the pool area. The pool is open in the evening but the water slides and the bar are closed .
We have eaten at the Pepper Market and found it to be nothing special. You have to walk to the different stations and with with children along, carrying trays and preventing spilling was no picnic.
We know you will love this resort!! Be sure to fax your room request 3 or 4 days before your trip.
Have a great time. Write us a trip report when you get back!!

I too just stayed in the Ranchos. 7a I think. It was close to the bus stop. A short walk to the pool and a nice walk to El Centro. I thought it was big and spread out, but it really was no that long of a walk and the scenery was nice. The main pool was very fun. The water slide was great. I think it closed at 8pm. This was 2 weeks ago. The rooms were all supposedly the same. Nothing spectacular, but good enough considering we were only there at night and early morning. The Pepper Market was ok. Decent food and lots of choices, but it was a little crowded and somewhat confusing even after our 3rd time eating there. All in all, I liked the resort. I didn't think it was anything special, but I will say that I was satisfied with it. We would probably try a different resort on site next time. I was not blown away by the Coronado Springs, but the staff and pool were both outstanding. I have read other posts where people really love this place. I just liked it. The price was right. It was convient as far as the busses went, and it had everything right there for you. You do not even have to leave the resort for anything. I give it about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. I think that if you go in understanding that this is only a "moderate" resort, then you will not be dissapointed. Have fun and feel free to ask me any questions.

I stayed at the CSR in 2002 and I loved it. I was in the Ranchos section. I can't remember what buiding # it was, though. It is the farthest section from El Centro, but it provides a beautiful walk in the morning and at night. I think it's the best themed section of the three. Have a great time!

It will depend on what you are looking for. Each section is distinctively different. You can check out pics on my website below. We love the cabanas but you my find the ranchos more to your liking.
