We have a reservation at Coronado Springs in late November. We have stayed there before and enjoyed it. We are going with my mother who is having some leg issues.

I was wondering if the tower is closer to the cafeteria area than the normal rooms. Last year it was a hike to get there.

I just watched the video and it looks similar to the newly remodeled other rooms.

What do you guys think? Worth the extra bucks to stay in the tower? We have two rooms and all are adults.

I think it may be worth it. As a matter of fact, I just changed my reservation for my November trip for F&W to the Gran Destino tower after watching Craig's video, which really won me over. Best of all, it's only $20 more per night than my existing reservation at POFQ.

The other option is to book a preferred room (Casitas section) to be close to El Centro (where the food court and 2 table service restaurants are).

Id go for the Tower. Preferred rooms have the potential to be farther away than the tower to El Mercado. Using google maps I measured 606ft from tower lobby to El Mercado. It was 945ft from our preferred room last year on the corner by the spa. These are straight line distances so it could be farther especially from preferred with many turns on the paths potentially.

I changed our reservation. It was only $200 more per room for the trip. Hopefully they put up the fall specials so I can reduce the bill.

The new tower is great and especially if it was along a stretch of beach like in Cancun's hotel zone but to me, a "tower" does not feel Disney. To me, Disney is a 4 story (give or take a story) cluster of buildings with immaculate landscaping and or theming and not a 16 story tower. Would I stay there....absolutely.....will it be my first place to look into.....no. After this years trip, our next one is in 2021 so maybe my mind will have changed.

So you wouldn't stay at Contemporary? :)
