We have stayed here numerous times but always in the tower. Wondering advantages and disadvantages of water view in cabanas or ranchos. We will be on floor 1, which is for medical reasons is guaranteed ,,, burt would rather not be by the pool. Thinking casitas 5 or Ranchos 8B. Any opinions. Just 2 adults for the Labor Day long weekend plus a day.

Do you mean Cabanas 8B? If you do, that’s a good location if you want to be close to the tower. I prefer Cabanas over Casitas or Ranchos (too far from main buildings IMO).

Casitas 5 is nice. You can cut across the bridges to get there.

Casitas is nice because you're just a stones throw away from bus stop #2, which is the first stop they go to for pickups. So you should have no problems getting on busses or finding a seat on the bus. Also, Casitas 5 is probably the most centrally located area of the resort. It may not be closest to any one thing, but its not far from anything either. Foot Court and pool are an easy walk right across the 3 bridges

Casitas 5 is nice, though Casitas 4 is even better if you can get it. Either one is close to bus stop 2, which is oddly the first stop for the buses, and it's right next to the bridge entrance. Generally nice and quiet.
