After a ten day stay, I have some quick thoughts. The room was a nice size, stayed cool but the bathroom needed a makeover. The tub had stains and areas that were so worn that you could see the black base. The shower had mildew on the grout and the shower curtain.

I was really looking forward to the pepper market but was disappointed. Had three meals there but was disappointed. Please don't flame me!

Thanks for the review.

I was just wondering when Disney was going to refurb this resort. Seems to be long overdue.

We stayed last year and the room was nice but you are 100% right about the bathrooms! It felt old, dated, slightly gross. There was a mug ring on the edge of the tub that stayed there for our entire stay. We did enjoy our meals at Pepper Market though.

I have an upcoming stay for two nights in Sept. so thanks for the review. One of the things I hated about the value resorts was the mildew stains in the tubs, and I tried two of them. I understand it's Florida and the humidity is horrible and some of that is expected but sure sounds like they are definitely ready for a refurb. What didn't you like about Pepper Market? I usually only eat breakfast at the resort but was actually thinking about breaking pattern and maybe trying some other meal there.

We stayed there in June for the first time. We didn't have any mildew that I noticed in the bathroom, and we enjoyed the one meal we had at PM, but we didn't care for CSR overall. Nothing I can point to, but we much prefer CBR.

I don't understand the appeal of PM. I unfortunately had a bad cold when I stayed at CSR, so I was at the resort much more than I intended to be for my 5 days at WDW. I didn't like any of the meals I had at PM - maybe it was the cold, but I didn't care for the setup, and I thought he quality of the food wasn't nearly as good as the Landscape of Flavors food court at AOA.

We stayed there in December for an impromptu trip to see the Lights one last time. I felt the same way. Our room was immaculate, the grounds perfectly groomed, the decorations were impeccable. The staff was attentive and friendly. I still think about the Chipotle Bacon burger from PM. I don't want to stay there again. I cannot even say why, there was nothing wrong and everything was right. The Mousekeeper noticed that the three of us used all the towels and added a few more, there was plenty of toiletries.

Stayed at CSR last May, and my room was in good shape. No mildew, no gross rings of grime. My food from the Pepper Market was very good, but the service was slow. Going again in around 6 weeks, so I will be sure to report back!

Thanks for this review. We had planned to book CBR for next year but DS was looking at pictures of the pool and buildings and really likes the Mexico theme. A dirty bathroom would not be OK with me though so I will have to think hard about this. It's a lot of money to not have a nice room.

I honestly think you can get a bad room at any resort. With thousands of rooms there are unfortunately bound to be some that are not quite up to snuff. I would no more move resorts based on some having less than great ones than I would move resorts based on reports of bad transportation. Stuff like that can happen at any resort. If you end up with a room that is in bad shape, go down to the front desk and have them give you a new one.

Our experience was a super cheap deal for a Business standard room ( it was the only room available and I had No idea on the perks at the time)
Building was close to main area/food and bar, we got Free bkfst food, free nite snacks n food, FREE beer and wine within the private area. We Loved that aspect. Actually added 2 additional nites, lol.
What I didn't like.. Very busy with conventions/people and lots of smoking.
Glad we tried it but likely would not return unless great rate for that Same category room.

Pepper Market is operated by a third party and there are noticeable differences for anyone who's used to or expecting typical Disney resort food courts. The pros to PM are that you get large portions and they have different options than the typical fare, but the cons are that since things are made to order, it can be slow and the quality of the food can vary greatly too. Wasn't a big a fan of it myself.

Thank you for your thoughts. We had thought about giving this place a try but I've read many not so great reviews lately about the need for room refurbishments and am thinking we will re-evaluate after it has been renovated. Love the look of the pool area but the room pictures don't do much for me and then hearing about the rundown furniture, moldy/mildewy bathroom tiles, etc........we will skip CSR for now and try another.

We stayed in July. The bathroom was showing wear, but not in poor/dirty condition. We like the Pepper Market...good options with good flavor, IOE. The burger/chicken station was always busy and they never seemed to make enough pizzas at once, but the wait just meant everything was hot and fresh.

CSR is one of our favorites, but I've had mildew in the bathroom once, as well as at the YC and BW. Can happen anywhere. A call directly to housekeeping from the room phone, not to the front desk, has always got quick results to clean the mildew spots. I'm very specific when I call the, for example "mildew on the grout by the left of the door". It's always been cleaned when we've returned to the room. We've also had tired looking furniture both at CSR over the years as well as at some of the deluxe resorts that cost considerably more.

As far as PM, we like the variety from the usual food court, and know it sometimes is a bit slower to get our food. We know this up front, so it doesn't bother us. If we want really quick we pick something up at RIX.
