We stayed at the Coronado Springs for one night on October 16th. It was our arrival day. After our flight arrived and we picked up our rental car, we headed to CSR arriving approximately at 3 p.m. We followed the directions on our confirmation and we easily found the resort. The checkin line wasn't that bad. We quickly found out we would be sharing the CSR with a large contingent of baseball players that were playing at the Wide World of Sports. Our CM was very nice at checkin. Unfortunately, we were unable to get our request for Cabanas 9b. We were given a unit in Casitas 1 on the 3rd floor. Our room wasn't ready, so we took off for Publix near the Premium Outlet Mall for groceries. We bought a styrofoam cooler to hold our perishables. We didn't know if we would have a refrigerator in the room plus we were moving to the BWV the next day and I did not want to go to the grocery store again. Once we loaded up on breakfast & lunch items and adult beverages, we headed back to the resort. We took a walk to the quiet pool and happened upon a party for the baseball players with more adult beverages, music and muscular college girls in bikinis. DH had a big smile on his face and declared this area a GREAT area to stay in. We found a house phone and our room was ready. We had a standard view room and we're pleasantly surprised to have a view of the lovely courtyard and a top floor room to boot. We were assigned room 1325. It was our first stay onsite. IMHO the room was comparable to the Holiday Inn. We did have a dorm sized refrigerator (no freezer section). It was enclosed in a wooden box which really helped dim the noise. We LOVED the mattresses on the beds. It looked like our unit must have been renovated sometime recently since it was in good condition. The safe was very small. It held our park hoppers, keys, and some money. It was nice to have the separate curtained area with the sink. The water pressure in the shower wasn't very strong. The room overall was fairly small. It was okay for one night. We wouldn't have made it a week in that unit, though. After unloading our groceries and luggage, we headed off for the pool. Man, is that pool a LONG way away. Luckily, we snagged one of the golf carts part way there. It was a bit cool for swimming, but we braved the weather and enjoyed the pool. LOVED the slide. It's awesome and the hot tub felt GREAT. DS also liked the kids playground. It was far nicer than the playground at the BWV. After a couple of hours of swimming, we headed back to change for dinner. Did I mention how LONG the walk was? If you have older people in your party, you better plan on driving around this resort! We had a hard time getting a golf cart back. We ate at the Pepper Market for dinner using 2 quick and casual vouchers. I'll post a review on the restaurant and budget boards. We also checked out the arcade and gift shop. Casitas 1 is a short walk to the Pepper Market and the better arcade so we did like that. I will say that with all the baseball partying, our unit was very quiet at night. We checked out the other areas and I wasn't so crazy about the Rachos area. Very desert like. Looks like they are adding onto the Convention Center. We were not bothered by construction, however, our stay was a Friday night. The next morning we checked out around 9 a.m. and our bill was on the door. We did not use the bus transportation to the parks so I can't comment on that. CSR was a quick trip down the road to the BWV so it made it very easy to get to the BWV early the next morning for checkin.
