We will be staying at the CSR in August and I wondered what you all thought about the Pepper Market and Maya Grill. They have some not so great reviews in the book I'm reading but that doesn't always mean much. Maya Grill really received a low rating, does someone have some reviews/pics you'd like to share? Any info is awesome, thanks!

I would be interested too, we are staying in Aug. too (23-31), of course, it seems we have so many ADR's we will barely eat at the resort itself!

I have to be truthful. We have stayed at the CSR six times (soon to be seven) and we have only eaten at Maya Grill once--and that was for breakfast. It is a buffet and it was very good.

Now, for the Pepper Market. A lot of people do not like it. You will receive a ticket when you are seated. There are different stations and you go to the station with your card and have it stamped with what you ordered. People don't like this because if everyone wants something different you end up at all different locations or it creates a problem with little kids. We never had an issue with it when our boys were younger--and they loved the food.

Once you leave, you grab everyone's stamped cards and pay at the exit. There is a 10% gratuity added on. This is covered by the dining plan. If you are not on the dining plan, and want to avod the 10% gratuity, ask for a "to go ticket" and sit at one of the lovely tables outside by the lake.

We have always enjoyed the food and eat here two or three times a visit for either breakfast or lunch. I love the fettucine and they have very good ceasar salads and huge sandwiches. I have never had the rib eye steak, but I hear it is very good. And YES it is on the dining plan.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

We loved the Pepper Market:thumbsup2 however we havent eaten at Maya Grill yet. We are going in August too!! We will have to try the buffet for breakfast one day!!
See you by the pool!!!:goodvibes

We just got back and only ate at the Pepper Market once. The food was good, but I hated paying the 10% service charge. I didn't know about getting food to go! We didn't eat at Maya, but we enjoyed delicious giant pastries at Cafe Rix and fabulous quiches (fantastic vegetable one) there as well. The snack bar by the big pool had yummy fries and nachos too. One thing I discovered was that drinks in the vending machines were 2.50, but they were 1.87 at the gift shop.
