Coronado Springs Resort

Kimickey - I was happy to read your post. My family didn't like CBR either yet wants to try CSR. I am very worried that we won't like CSR, thinking it is very similar to CBR. I hope I end up loving it too. Deep down I'm a PO fan.

I think your family will enjoy the CSR. It's nothing like the CBR... The pool at the CSR is 100% better than the one at the CBR. The CSR feels warm and comfortable, the CBS seemed distant and out of touch to us. The Pepper Market offers a variety of food. If you are in the mood for Chinese, there is Chinese, if you are in the mood for Mexican, there is Mexican...I think you get the idea. The CBR to us just offered the usual food court menu to us. To our family the CBR had zero spark. The CSR does it for us everytime we visit. We like to just walk around the CSR property and soak in the atmosphere. We fell in with it the first time we stayed there and cannot get enough of the CSR.

We will be staying at CSR for the first time in May. We are really looking forward to it. Thanks for the great photos Kimickey!

I can't wait until our trip to CSR! It sounds like it should be very nice, a bit romantic, and I'm ready NOW!! LOL

We'll be making our visit to CSR in July, and thought the cabanas would be the place to stay with kids who'll spend a lot of time at the Dig Site nearby. What is it about the casitas that you love?

if we are staying here, do you reccomend having a rental car or is the Disney transportation good enough?

Ok you guys are really starting to sell me on this resort. But now let me ask you this. How is it compared to CBR? Right now I am stuck choosing between these 2 resorts. ::MickeyMo

one of the selling points for CSR was the central air. I hate those wall units! It was just my husband and I so we liked the thought of less kids there. plus CSR does not share busses with any other resort, absolutely loved this place. and we had a fantastic meal at the Mayan grill.

you dont need a rental car, let disney do the driving! I only had to wait on one bus the whole time- it was after illuminations when everyone else was leaving.

We stayed at Cabanas 9B & it was perfect! My DS(10) could got to the Pepper Market for a drink alone & could also sit in a hammock w/ DD(5) & I could see them as I was packing our bag that we bring to the parks. I thought everything was great at CSR. We are trying AKL next trip b/c I just might purchase DVC there.

We stayed at CSR about a month ago. I was highly disappointed. The pool is very nice, but the hot tub was always too crowded. The resort is very large, and they do have golf cart type vehicles, but if you are pushing a stroller, they don't stop to give you a ride. The food court has unique styles of food and quite expensive, in my opinion. It was cheaper to eat inside the park. It was also a very long walk for us, we were close to the main pool, but it took a good 10 minutes to walk to the food court. We had an issue with maid service too. I had to call every day for coffee, because it was not re-stocked. Another day, the maid laid the towels on our suit case, instead of hanging them on the rack. I stopped tipping after 3 days of this. Then, we returned to our room at 2:30 in the afternoon, and our room had not been serviced. Knowing we were only going to go for a quick swim before returning to our room to get ready for our ressie's, we placed a do not disturb sign on the door, so we wouldn't have to worry about the maid service being in our room when we're trying to get ready. We returned to find the maid in our room. She said management told her to knock, and if no one answered, to go in and service the room. I was extremely irritated, asked her to come back in an hour to clean the room. I called management, and had to leave a message. We returned at 1 AM from the parks, with 3 small sleeping kids, and our room had NOT been serviced. I called the manager on duty and told of my horrible experience. The next day, and our last day, there were 3 small stuffed animals in our room to make up for the inconvenience. I do not appreciate having to call house keeping on a daily basis to request items that should have been there to begin with. And to think I downsized from Animal Kingdom Lodge because of the construction at the 12th hour. I was disappointed to say the least! We stayed the year before at Saratoga Springs, and absolutely loved it. Maybe we just had a little bit of bad luck, although I have a feeling, I'm not alone! Good luck with your trip though! Gotta love Disney!

I just got back yesterday from my Disney trip. First we Stayed at the Poly for 2 nights and then CSR for 4. I LOVED the Poly, I knew I would because I'd been there before but the new additions to the room were great :yay: Anyway that day I checked in with my family at CSR. We stayed in the Casitas which were pretty close to everything exept the big pool, but there was a quiet poool right there so no big deal. I would never stay in the Ranchos section it is so far away from everything except the pool. The Casitas are also good because they are the first bus stop and you always get a seat. The Pepper Market was around 5 minutes away. So everything was pretty nice. The End. princess:

All these CSR threads are making me homesick for it. We're staying at POP to keep costs down for our free dining trip in late August, but I sure wish we were staying at CSR. :(
