Kenny and I are finally trying CSR Sept. 27-Oct. 3!!!!! I saw pics from lovethattink's trip report, "Doing Disney Differently" and fell in looove! :lovestruc We are staying at CSR preferred room! Sooo excited!!!!!!

Come on March 31....my dining window finally opens!

Anna

Welcome, Anna. You will be there part of the time we are "home." Lovethatink's report is great and she got some awesome pictures too. :)

Thanks Anna and KatMark.

KatMark, there was no room at the inn on my dates. I will be at FQ while you are cheating. Unless a standard room opens up at CSR.

Have just made our reservations for our next visit: Sept 25-Oct 2. This will be our first visit to CSR- finally will have stayed at all of the mods! (we're soooo fickle:lmao:).
We will have a standard room, and I have requested a room close to dining because I have mobility issues (still haven't had that knee replacement). Do you think there is any hope of being placed in Casitas 1 or Cabanas 9B? From the map it looked like they would be the closest to the main building.
If we get stuck out in the boonies (Rancho area) could we try to upgrade to a preferred room at check-in? Have never needed to try this in the past.
Would appreciate any advice:surfweb:

If I want to make a room reservation....can I just call the hotel directly?!?! I did make one at the "General" reservation phone line...but that CM had no idea what the buildings were, preferred rooms, etc...

I'm just thinking it would be easier to call the CSR directly?

can I do that?!?!

Thanks!

No; when you call the CSR phone number, you are actually getting the Call Center who answers CSR as they see the call coming into the CSR.

Did you book preferred? If you did, you will get Casitas 1, 2 or 3. If not and you have a specific request for one of the other buildings, then call and have them put it on your reservation.

Nope, you have to go through central reservations. I would suggest you decide on which room request you want to make before you call, and have the CM put them on your reservation.

Keep checking....something might open. :)

You will not get a standard room in Casitas 1 because those are Preferred rooms. If Cabana 9B is not being used for a Convention that has paid for Club Level, the rooms will be available to regular guests. There is a special number to call for mobility issues that you can ask them to put in a request for you (I'll see if I can find it). If not, you can always ask when checking in if you can upgrade and paid for a preferred room.

Which buildings are only two floors, thanks so much. :thumbsup2

The Ranchos are 2 and 3 stories; the Casitas are 3 and 4 stories; the Cabanas are 2 stories. All buildings except Casitas 2 have elevators.

Well, we came back today from another stay at CSR. I had requested the Ranchos but they put us in Casitas 4, which I thought was odd cause ususally it's more the other way around :) The location was great though, close to the quiet pool and very close to bus stop #2. A little far from the Dig Site but you can't have everything !
The trip itself was only so-so, I was sick from the A/C and that ruined nearly two days of our six-day trip, plus made the flight back home even more of a pain.
CSR didn't disappoint though ! I am still kicking myself for staying away from CSR for so long. All the CMs were friendly & helpful, and the only issue we had was having to leave. :sad2:

Welcome home! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at CSR yet again, but sorry you were sick on vacation. I hope you feel better again.

Just returned from another wonderful trip to our home away from home.. CSR. First up, for the person asking about the slide and what time it closes... while we were there the slide closed at 8pm, or when the lifeguards went off duty.
We did the online check in and were able to check in quickly and even had our request honored. We didn't request a specific section, but were blessed with a lovely room in Casitas 5 (we stayed in Casitas 4 last year and I fell in love with all the beautiful fountains) We had a great view of a fountain and the lake, and could see the Epcot fireworks from right outside our door every night. (we were in room 5333, in case anyone wants to know)
The only problem we experienced was what i feel like was a lack of communication... on our last night our dd4 got sick and threw up on the bed, my husband called housekeeping for some new linens and help getting our room cleaned up, he went ahead and stripped the bed and cleaned up as much as possible while I bathed our DD and myself, when the house keeper arrived she gave us the sheets, but was not aware that there was a vomit incident, so my husband had to ask her for something to clean the carpet(and rid the room of the smell) she came back, with a spray and some towels and was going to leave when my husband asked her what to do with the dirty linens, she had to go back again for a garbage bag to put them in. I think that when she got the call from mousekeeping they just told her we needed clean linens and didn't mention that we would need help cleaning up. It was totally not her fault, but I feel like there could have been some better communication as this whole process took over an hour to complete.
Every other aspect of our stay was wonderful, bus service was great (except for trying to get a bus to downtown disney in the evening), all the castmembers at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful, and the main pool was great. CSR is an absolutely beautiful resort.

I'm sorry DD got sick and hope she is feeling better (at least it was the end of the trip and not the start).

I'm glad that overall your stay at CSR was another good one. I hear you on falling in love with Casitas 4 and 5 -- our favorites. :goodvibes

You may want to contact Services for Guests with Disabilities at (407) 824-4321 and discuss your needs with them. They may be able to assist in ensuring you get placed where you need to be, even with a standard room.

Thank you SO much for that information.:flower3: I will call them right away and see what they have to say. On our last visit (POR) I made a general request on our reservation and didn't have it granted, so we had a LONG walk to the food courts each day. Starting each day with a sore knee was not much fun.

Hi guys.

I just did online check in!!:banana::banana:

But I didn't get a room assignment or even a building... :guilty: I thought it would tell you? Maybe I was thinking too far ahead...?

You never known your room assignment until you check in.

Hey Everyone,
I've never been to CSR before but we'll be there in the beginning of June and I'm super excited!!! Anyway this may seem like a really weird question but all I keep hearing is how large the resort is and I was wondering if there's anywhere someone could fly a kite? My family is actually taking a couple of days durning our trip to chill out at the hotel, so I was just curious if anyone knows if Disney has a policy for kites?
