Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2011

Hi everyone! Sorry if I missed it on the list at the beginning of the thread or somewhere on a page, but does anyone have an idea of what is going on at CSR the in Nov 2012? We are planning a trip Nov 1-6 and had really hoped to stay at CSR again, but the only rooms available are suites. To spend that much, it just makes more sense to us to stay at Beach or Yacht so we can walk to Epcot...but we're still hoping something opens up later on. Just wondering if there's something huge going on I missed.

Trying to read through this thread, since this is where we want to stay next. But I have a couple of questions. I am on page 13 now, lol.

Having only stayed onsite at the pop, and having only had experience with their buses, I have to wonder. Are the CSR buses usually so full that you have to stand? I really feel unsafe standing on a bus, especially with my 9yr old and 6yr old standing.

Also wondering about the corner rooms. I see several mentions of them on the first 13 pages, and am wondering about them. Are there any pictures anywhere? Do they have more windows like the ones at the CBR since they are corner rooms? If not, why are they better than regular room?

TIA, I am sure I will have more questions as I read.

ETA: Also is the room service on the dining plan? Thanks

Another question, and it won't let me edit the other post again. It is about the new pepper market buffet. Even at Boma kids get to get anything off the buffet, but I see that this buffet has a kid's section, do they have to stick with that part of the buffet only? Seems weird for a buffet.

At all but the busiest vacation times, it shouldn't be a problem at all, at least going to the parks. If you're concerned, ask for a room in the Casitas section - that's the first bus stop picked up to go to the parks.

Coming back from the parks, it depends on when you're leaving. You can always wait for another bus to come along.

I've always had excellent luck with the CSR buses.

Several do; some, being "interior corners", do not.

See above.

Just a tip I found useful on our recent trip. We listed our dining reservation details and confirmation numbers in our Blackberry. Also, parade and fireworks showtimes. It beat having to keep up with a notebook.:)

Great Idea! Thanks! Now I am regretting all those times I carried a notebook around, haha, never thought about it.

See above.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Will definantly ask for the casitas. We usually wait on another bus if they are full, but several times last year with POP, the next bus was another 45 minute wait, especially out of MK and AK. Pop buses are terrible.

I have only stood once at CSR in four trips - that was coming back from MK after Wishes (also with a 9 and 6 year old at the time :goodvibes). It was our choice - we could have waited until the next bus. We didn't realize how full the bus was until we got on, but we held on tight. The worst part was for DD8, who was 6 at the time - she couldn't reach the top rails. I held her and held on to the rail with one hand.

I don't think anyone has specifically posted about this, but I think kids will be able to get what they want. Other buffets have a kids' section, although it is incorporated into the overall line. Since PM has stations, the kids' section appears separate, but I expect it would be treated the same as any other buffet on property.

Kristinemomof3....you have to request a microwave when you check in...they have a limited number available. If they don't have one when you first check in, keep checking with the concierge desk and they will try toot get you one when it becomes available.

What is the cost per day for the microwave?

Ahh, nevermind, I just got caught up, lol. That was a good read, thanks to eveyone for the information.

Thank you. Last year, my daughter was 5 and my son was 8 and I just had them sit in the floor of the bus between my legs and husbands legs, yes it was dirty and disgusting, but it was better than them falling and getting hurt. They took baths when we got back to the rooms anyway. This was on the one we had already wait 45 minuts for and were not going to wait another 45 minutes (which is what were werr told) for the next one.

Can't really seem to find the answer to my questions anywhere...hope you can help me out:
1) How long are the pools (quiet and main) open at night?
2) Are there pool towels or do you have to bring the towels from your room?
3) Since I loooooooooooove hot tubs...are there any and if so, where?

You better like it HOT too...it was so hot all the time it actually was unbareable. It wasn't just me, everyone in it everytime I'd go would coment on it being so hot.

We were there 12/18 - 12/29 and ate at PM quite often (no meal plan). DS8 ate off the regular menu during all meals. Breakfast and lunch we were only charged the child prices. Adults can also get thing from the kids area at all meals. HTH

Buses were never packed full except a couple of times. One was after Wishes at MK and the other was a park with EMH (never again!) the week after Christmas.

Forgive me for asking what could be already answered questions but I have a slow PC and trying to read thru this thread will have me here for a few days! I am curious to know if roll away beds are an option at Coronado? We finally booked our trip and I have never stayed here but I am very excited after looking at the photos on this thread and reading thru at least a few pages! I am staying with my 2 cousins and we got the standard room with 2 queens so curious about the rollaway and whether it would actually fit even if it is available. Also, I have not traveled to Dis during this time of year, what is weather like in late January typically? Do folks use the pools? Finally, if anyone has stayed recently, was there a bounce back and if so what was it?
I still can't believe I am going back to Dis, and staying somewhere I have never been or even seen for that matter that looks so beautiful, SO CANNOT WAIT!

Yes they are.

Yes they are.

They are, but you can't reserve one ahead of time. They hand them out on a first come, first served basis. And I beleive they charge for them. If you know you don't want to share a bed you may want to bring an air mattress along. Housekeeping will give you extra blankets for it. That way you know you will have a bed all to yourself.:)

Are cabs readily available at CSR? I need to attend meetings at Marriott World Center for work for four of the days we will be there. I am hoping to avoid renting a car.

If cabs are available, any idea what the cost from CSR to Marriott World Center might be?

I am so glad I found this thread! DBF and I went through all the resorts to see which ones he liked the most and CSR was his favorite next to CR, but this is a more budget friendly resort. ;) This will be his first trip to WDW so I need to make it super special for him. I haven't gone through the whole thread yet, but I absolutely love the pictures on the first page and I'm starting to fall in love with this resort! It looks very romantic and peaceful. Is this an adult-friendly resort? I love kids and all, but I like my peace and quiet and don't like not being able to sleep if there are lots of kids running around late at night. I'll continue to look through this whole thread for answers to many questions I have and will post any questions that I have that haven't been answered. I am very much so looking forward to my trip, even though it isn't 'til 2013, but planning is always fun. :goodvibes
