:cool1: Call me crazy but I just dumped the YC for my beloved CSR for our Sept trip. Even added a day! I was able to get CSR afterall, for some reason the YC wasn't doing it for me.

SO EXCITED! We had wanted to go to CSR when we originally booked in May for September free dining. However, there weren't any free dining rooms available. We went down to value because my 6'2" DH wanted a queen bed to share with our growing-by-the-day DS9. We thought that would be the best resort for us with the combination of the great pool area.

The CM had told me to keep calling back, as there are always cancellations. I've been calling twice a week with no luck.

I called tonight and the CM proceeds to tell me the code is expired. I was about to say "Thanks anyway" when she asks if she can put me on hold. 15 minutes later, she comes back on and says she got a CSR room for us with free dining from a supervisor. (she did keep checking on me every few minutes)

Not sure what she did, but yay for pixie dust!

This will be our first moderate stay - we've always been value people. (well, we did the FW Cabins, but I don't count that as a moderate.)

It won't be much more, as we always upgrade the QS free dining to the DDP, which comes standard at the moderates. Whoo hooo!:cool1:

What are the dates you are there? I think we miss each other by a few days, but I can't remember.

We switched our CBR Pirate Room to CSR. This thread is awesome with all the pictures and information. We don't want the summer to fly but but we can't wait to surprise our kids with this vacation in September!

We did the exact same thing. (However, we got the Pirate Room by default - not by asking for it.)

We were EXTREMELY happy with CSR and would go back in a heartbeat.

Enjoy your trip!!!! (lucky you)

I love hearing about all these people switching to CSR!!! Soo excited for our first stay there!!

Count us in as CSR lovers too. Last time we were wanting Wilderness Lodge again, however we could stay more days if we switched to a moderate. So we tried CSR and loved it!

This next time we'll be getting a preferred room though. Loved the Casitas and the Pepper Market.

We did go visit the Wilderness Lodge briefly last time. We were in search of a loaf of bread. CSR did not have any bread in their gift shop. But we knew that Wilderness Lodge did. It was no problem to ride the boat from MK over to WL for a brief visit.

Ok this makes me even more excited. I had CSR booked and then switched to WL and switched back to CSR! When I switched back I got the preferred room because I thought the Casitas area was so pretty and knew I would be disappointed if we didnt get that section. Not that the other sections dont have their benefits. Will be eating at WCC so I still get to visit WL. Only 162 days!! :cool1:

Forgot to add another reason we loved CSR. The wonderful pillow top beds. Plus we got a rollaway for our son. So the three of us each had our own bed! Heaven!!

Enjoy your stay there. Eat a mickey waffle for me. Love the buffet breakfast in Pepper Market.

I noticed you stayed in club level in May. Was it worth it? I know it's really difficult to get if you're not part of a convention...

Is the in-room safe large enough to hold a large (17") laptop? Other suggestions on where to keep it secure in September?

Not taking it is NOT an option. :hourglass

I am going to CSR for the first time in 8 days. I was a little nervous after I booked and read everyone's comments about how spread out the resort was, but all you DISers have eased my fears! I tried to book a preferred room, but none was available for my stay. I requested Cabanas and near transportation. I would like to be near the food court, etc., but I'd prefer to be near a bus stop. Did I make the right requests?
Thanks!:flower3:

We locked all our electronics in one of our large suitcases. In fact, I think I locked all 3 large suitcases each morning before we left. Never had a problem.

Add me to the list of CSR lovers. Although we've not stayed since 2010 thanks to a great DVC deal last year, we are coming "home" in December for four nights as a surprise 60th birthday celebration for my hubby.

I have taken my laptop the last three trips; I have never locked it up at any resort I've stayed at. I've either left it out on the desk or under the clothes in the drawer.

We were in search of a loaf of bread. CSR did not have any bread in their gift shop. .

I thought I read somewhere that the gift shop didn't have bread because Pepper Market has their own bakery, and sells loaves in there.

Can anyone confirm this? My son likes his PBJs and I was going to bring a jar of each, then buy bread when when got there.

We were there on a regular visit and were upgraded for free at check in. I would not pay for it, but it was nice for free.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but is the breakfast buffet included in the dining plan? And if you do not want the buffet, Cafe Rix also has breakfast items, correct? Trying to weigh out staying at CSR for our next rip. Thanks!!!
