Hi all,

Did I read somewhere that there is now an internal bus system at CSR? Thinking about staying there again, loved the rooms and the resort was beautiful, but I have a bad hip and the walk was brutal, espescially in the rain, to El Centro. An internal bus would be a dream come true.

Hi,

I believe you can catch the bus at the stop that is nearest to you and ride it the stop in front of el centro. I'm sure someone will know the order of the stops, because I'm not sure El Centro is the last stop every time.
I would request a room close to El Centro and let them know why. I'm sure they will do their best to accommodate you.
Have a great time!

Does anyone know how the water slide compares to the one at Port Orleans French Quarter. Last year my son went down the one at CBR and it was too deep for him. He could do the slide at French Quarter. I tried looking at the sign photos and it looks like the depths are similar. The CBR doesn't have a slide sign that I can find anywhere but I'm looking at the pool and it seems that the number on the side of the pool is deeper.

I don't know how deep it is exactly, but I can tell you that it is not terribly deep.

another question...does anyone know where we can make an Itinerary for our trip to disney in a month....my wife likes to be prepared....

I do our planning using Excel spreadsheets, as do a lot of people on the Dis, if you're comfortable with that. I also have a subscription to Touring Plans which gives me a as to where I want to be based on their crowd calendar. I also plan on checking out Ridemax this time around, as I have been told by several Disney vets that its quite useful and I will have my three year old son with me, so I want to maximize our time and the wait at some of the rides he'll really want to get on can be brutal.

I used an Excel spreadsheet for my itinerary. But there's an itinerary section that you can do on Disney's website, which I have also filled out (mainly for my TA).

Once you have your trip booked, go to Disney's site and click the My Disney Vacation link. On the left you will see a list of things, the 4th one down is itineraries (you can make mulitple ones). Click the Build a New Itinerary link and you are good to go.

I personally like having the excel spreadsheet because it lets me look at everything at a glance. The one on the Disney site you have to go through several clicks to see how your day looks, and even then I haven't been able to look at more than a day at a time.

The bus stop order for the park buses are #2 (Casitas), #3 (Ranchos), #4 (Cabanas), then #1 (Main Building). For the DTD buses it is #1 (Main Building), #2 (Casitas), #3 (Ranchos) #4 (Cabanas). So if you are in Casitas 4 or 5, Ranchos, or Cabanas you could catch any resort bus and it'd drop you off at the front of the resort. They used to have those little internal tram type vehicles that picked people up, but those are used now only for transporting luggage for people checking in and out and for some conventioneers that reserve them.

At the Pepper Market, is service charge included if you use a CS credit from the DDP? I think I saw that it did, I'm just checking if this is still correct.

I am officially one month out today! :cool1: I am so excited for our trip and have been reading this thread religiously. Thanks to KatMark and all of the other regular posters along with those who have shared their trip reports, I cannot wait to check out CSR. :goodvibes

Hey there 'neighbor'! We are going at the same time! Aug 22-30, at CSR. We are planning to ask for Casitas 4 or 5, since it is near the 2nd bus stop. We are going to pick up our home depot mickey heads this weekend.

Norristown is not very far from me, you are right about being "neighbors". :thumbsup2 We requested Cabanas 8a or 9b - as long as we are somewhere in Cabanas, I think we will be happy. :goodvibes This will be our first time at CSR, the more pictures I look at, the more excited I get. :woohoo:

another question...does anyone know where we can make an Itinerary for our trip to disney in a month....my wife likes to be prepared....

I am a paper and pencil kind of girl. I have never learned to use excel. (I am a nurse, so no need for it at work.)
I use graph paper and make a column for each day, using the front and back. I make a row for each park. That gives me about 4 rows and 4 columns on each side of my paper...making 16 squares. In each square I write the corresponding park hours for that day/park, along with parade and nighttime show times. I put an asterick next to EMHs. I then can glance at the day with all the park hours listed and choose where to go that day. I highlight that particular box. From there, I make meal ressies and fill those in with conf numbers, as well as any other ressies. Then I pencil in other activities such as puttputt or shopping at DTD. This keeps me organized and all the info I need is on one sheet of paper. Since I have all the park hours listed, if we decided to change our itinerary last minute one day, we would be able to look at the paper and choose where to go. I also have marked which parks are good with a little check mark or bad with an 'X' from touring plans.com
Sounds confusing, but it is easy, and I do it for every trip. Works great. Maybe one day I will get my DH to show me how to use excel.:goodvibes
HTH!

Just bumping your question b/c I would like to know also.:thumbsup2

NO, the 10% is NOT included with the dining plan any longer. HOWEVER, some people have said they haven't paid it. So I would go with the understanding you have to leave a 10% tip.

I did exactly the same thing, only in Excel.

There are a few sites.

tourguidemike-good but confusing. It has the best info on least crowded days for each park. If you decide to try this and need help, I'll be glad to give you some shortcuts. His sample plans are excellent

touringplans-good but not as good as tourguidemike

Ridemax-gives a more personalized touring plan-you can input your dining reservations, what time you'll get to the park, etc. I use the dining reservation part if we're planning to take a break- if we're leaving for 3 hours, I put in a three hour meal.

When planning, I use tourguidemike and RideMax. We have minimal waits if any.

For both programs, it would cost about $40 however, a WDW trip costs thousands, so I don't mind spending the money as I consider it a minimal cost to utilize my time.

a bit bummed but trying not to worry too much about it....

so rates came out for next year and we were planning on going Feb 5-12th for my 30th and were excited to stay at CSR..... When I called to get the rates all the standard rooms were already booked- ???? I am assuming there is going to be a convention that week- but do you think more standard rooms will open up eventually? The week before did have availability, but we had our hearts set on the 5th-12th....

seems so odd that all standard rooms would be booked so far in advance :(

I didn't look at the convention list, but if there is one (and we could not know about it), they often block rooms until they know the number of attendees and rooms needed. I would keep checking back or try altering by just a day either at the beginning or the end and see what happens.

The room only rates for 2011 are out but I haven't been able to find them published anywhere yet. Does anyone know when value season starts during August 2011 for mods? TIA! :confused3

53 days until we're at CSR!! :dance3:

Thank you! Maybe I'll call today and see if I can find out when the beginning of value season is. Because of my dh's work schedule, the latest we can schedule the 1st day of our trip is probably August 8th. I have a feeling that'll be during $ummer $eason, but I'm hoping that it could be in value season. We're pretty much set on staying at a mod instead of a value resort for this trip. It'll either be POR or CSR.

We were there in June, and the tip was never automatically included whether we used our CS credits or paid OOP. We just remembered to leave a cash tip on the table.
