It is so hard to tell from the pictures...do the Cabanas open to the outside or are they inside as well? Thanks!

Are you asking if there is an "interior" hallway? The answer is no; all rooms exit directly to the outside. The doors are pushed open from the outside or pulled open from the inside in all of the rooms.

 Sorry, I am not being clear in my questions...hopefully this will clarify...we would like to be able to sit outside the room in the fresh warm Florida air while DD5 sleeps in the evening (she tends to go to bed quite early). Do the Ranchos and/or Cabanas exit/enter to the outside or is their an interior entrance? Sounds like from the last post the Cabanas entrance is outside...what about Ranchos? Thanks!

All values and all moderate resorts entrance is on the outside. There are NO interior corridors except at the deluxe resorts. So if you go outside while your DD sleeps, you will be walking right outside.

Hi, we will be going to CSR from August 25th to the 30th, and we have a 9 year old and a 6 year old. My wife is a morning coffee girl...so my question is what room would be suitable for us...

Thanx in advance for the reply.

Any room, just bring your own coffee!! It is really hard to find a good cup of coffee in Disney. IMHO

Does the CSR have real coffee? When we stayed at POR we just drove to the Poly each morning to get real coffee, but it would be nice to be able to get it at the resort. We are a bit of coffee snobs, and now that I'm pregnant and limited to one cup a day, I don't want to waste it on yucky stuff. (plus a shot of espresso has less caffeine than a standard cup of coffee, and I feel better about that)

If you are only concerned about being close to the food, then Cabanas 9B or 9A or Casitas 2 or 3 would be less than a three minute walk to the main building.

Yes, the Pepper Market has real coffee. I am always the first one up and I leave DH to take his shower and I walk over to the PM to get him a coffee and myself a cappucino. It is much better than the stuff in the room.

Oh hooray!!! I am so happy to hear that! I was always the food court runner for my family too. I was the first one up and ready, so I would go get breakfast while my husband was in the shower and the kids were still sleeping. I loved those morning walks.
This year we are bring breakfast items with us, but it makes me happy that I'll still get to enjoy that quiet morning walk to get coffee!

We are bringing 4 cup filters and Green Mountain coffee roasters to get us started in the morning! I assume we can get 1/2&1/2 or coffee creamer at El Centro? So looking forward to our visit in less than 1 week! Any advice you can give to a newbie with a DD4 turning 5 during our visit? Love that we will be able to sit outside our room in the evening but from the photos it looks like there are no chairs? Do you recommend 1st or 2nd floor? Thanks!;)

I get a kick out of how the mention of "Ranchos" seems to strike fear in many of us!! :rotfl:

I've now stayed in all 3 sections and I've got to say, Ranchos was a pleasant surprise! I remember the "oh no!" feeling I had when we first learned our rooms were in Ranchos (right before Christmas, 2 adjoining rooms), but we actually found the area to be very pretty, quiet, and convenient to the bus stop! :goodvibes

DD16 and I will be there for Easter. No requests - we're going to be happy no matter where we are at CSR! :cloud9:

If we didn't have refillable mugs and had sodas for our room we would have loved Ranchos. Just having to get the mugs for the morning and the evening it was a pain having to get to our room then hike there instead of waiting for a bus. Next time I think we'll request Ranchos and go with Garden Grocer instead of dealing with mugs since there will be 5 of us in 2 rooms instead of just DH and I.

Hi! We are now Disney Vacation Club members, but we love CSR so much we are spending a wknd there this May. It's still one of our favorire resorts and it's where we spent our honeymoon. It's a beautiful place. Enjoy all!

Quick question to those of you who have stayed @ CSR b4....is there a fridge in the rooms or do i need to request one? PS we leave in 5 days:banana:

All moderates and above come with a fridge--free of charge. No need to request one. Have a great time!

We just returned yesterday from our trip. We loved CSR! It is now a tie over CSR and POFQ for our favorite mod. I would even give a slight edge to CSR. We were in Casitas 3, and we loved it! We were close to El Centro and Bus stop 2. It really made a huge difference most of the times going to the parks, because we did not have to stand once since it is the first bus stop that they pick up at. I loved the newly renovated rooms, especially the queen beds...they were sooo comfy! The Dig Site was awesome! We enjoyed the pool and hot tub on two occasions. The property itself was stunning. We are probably going back to Disney this coming August, and my first choice as long as it will still be available once we know for sure we are going would be CSR!

Thank you Kathy and everyone else who provided the wonderful and informative information on this thread, it really did help us out, since this was our first stay at CSR. :goodvibes

Welcome back (although I'm sure you'd still rather be at Disney). I am absolutely thrilled that you fell in love with CSR. You brought a smile to my face today...thank you. :)

I forgot to mention that when we went to the business center, they let us use the internet free to quick print out our GAD voucher that I had lost. After tax its $1.07/page to print so we did have to pay that.

They also let you use the internet for free to do pre-flight check in.

WE are headed there in July for 3 nights. I am so excited. We usually stay at POFQ or WL but the boys really wanted to stay at CSR. We booked a standard view room - I would like to be near the pool but not so near that the noise at night will keep up the kids. Because it is a busy time I don't want full busses to pass us by for the parks in the am. I'm sure some bus stops are better than others. I know you are not guaranteed requests, but which buildings would be best for us. It is not crucial that we are near El Centro.

No, thank you!!!! Without your helpful information I would not have know what to expect. It made my stay a lot nicer! I loved it there! :wizard:

Also, I forgot to mention, we booked a standard room and we got a lovely room with a partial water view of the lake and courtyard. We got lucky, it was a pretty view.
