Does paying the premium price for a CSR king bed room also offer assurance that the view from the room will not be of a parking lot? Or are these rooms randomly scattered throughout the resort offering varied views?

Scattered throughout the resort...no guarantee of a courtyard or water view booking a king room.

A couple more questions

Are bed rails available?

I put in our request via our TA this is what I asked her to put

Corner room near parking close to pool Cabana's or Casita's

How does this sound?

I keep reading on other threads that CSR doesn't feel "as Disney." After looking at all the pictures I could find and seeing the topiary, fountains, beautiful landscaping, dig site, pool, and rooms with Mickey on the bedspreads, pillow, and mirror, and the various Three Caballeros paintings...how is CSR not "Disney?" Just wondering what others find less Disney?

Thoughts?

My thoughts are the hotel could be anywhere! CSR is like a hidden mickey itself!!

The fact it is at disney is what we love. I find it so relaxing after being in the parks to have the lovely scenery the lake etc. to unwind and recharge to.

We are going back in 36 days :cool1::cool1::banana: Some of the other hotels feel completely disney themed everywhere!

My DH actually has a question about the resort!! So, is there a couch in the king rooms? What furniture is in those rooms?

Thanks!

We were in a King Room in September...it is the same as the queens. A bed, dresser, night stand, desk and chair, ottomans, television, etc. The only rooms with couches are the bigger suites.

I think when compared with the value resorts it may come across as less Disney. Since I haven't stayed at a value, I can't say this with 100% accuracy. My feeling is based upon having seen pictures of the gigantic icons throughout those resorts. My family has always felt that CSR does feel like Disney. We love it!

I guess I haven't paid attention to the other resort threads but I can see how to 1 person less "in your face" Disney might not be what they want. For me personally, that's one of the reasons I choose CSR! I like the hidden Mickey comment!

I look at the pictures of the value resorts and they just feel like too much for me. I go into the parks for up-front Disney. I want to come back to the resort to relax and get away from that sometimes hectic feel and the values don't provide that laid-back, relaxed feel that the pictures of CSR give me. Last trip we stayed at OKW and that is what we liked about it.

Others complain that it is too spread out (a common compliant of both CSR and OKW) but after being in close quarters with people all day in the parks, I want to come back to my resort and have a little space!

I guess the beauty of Disney is the variety so everyone has something that fits their preferences!

Amen!!! I have stayed at CSR maybe 6 times since it was built. It had been awhile since I had been back to this resort, though I go to WDW around 3 times a year.

I was there at the end of November and it was soooo peaceful and beautiful inside and, especially outside!! I also love the recent renovations. It was hard to leave!!! I did make a reservation there for this May and can hardly wait to go back!

I think from what everyone has said, that CSR seems like such a relaxing place with just enough disney flair. I agree too, that everyone has their own preferences and it's nice to have different options. We have enjoyed the values, but would like a different experience too. Here's hoping for September & CSR! (If not CSR..I'll settle for Music:rotfl:and stick w/ the Three Caballeros element ;))

Hi there:

We're thinking about staying at the Coronado in June. My 3 year old daughter needs a nap in the afternoon. Is it possible to go back to the hotel for a nap then go back to the park to see the parade/fireworks, etc.?

When in May? I will be there May 1-9

Hey, I'll be there the exact same dates (May 1st-9th).:rotfl:

I can say from personal experience that not all King have nice views, nor are they all in a good location. Due to not being able to get a standard room with the AP discount, I had to book a king room for the first night of my Sept '09 trip, before switching to a standard room the next night. My king room was on the top floor of building 2 (the only building without an elevator:sad2:) and was facing the parking lot. It was not a good location at all and I got to pay extra to stay in that location.:rolleyes1 The only way to get to that room was to either walk up four flights of stairs or go all the way around to building 3, take that building's elevator, walk across a walkway/bridge, then go all the way back around building 2, to the back side and almost down the end, to get to that room. The next night I was moved to a standard room in Cabanas 8A and had a MUCH nicer location (a first floor corner room, two minutes from the bus stop, two minutes from the main pool, and less than five minutes from the main building).

Hi everyone,

Want to stay at CSR (1st time) in June and this thread has been a big help in planning on what section to request (thanks KatMark). It will be my DS12 and I. I must say I really like the look of the rancheros section. I just love the rock, cactus, etc look. Now I know that rancheros is the furtherest section out from the Pepper Market. We certainly don't mind walking but am I crazy to request this section? If we do request rancheros, which building would you request?

TIA

I may be the wrong one to answer this question. It's no secret on here that I really, really dislike the look of the Ranchos and am terrified of being stuck out there.:rotfl::rotfl: However, if I did have to pick a building out there, I'd go with 6B simply because there is no way you could possibly get a parking lot view in that building. In 6A you'd be closer to Bus stop 3 (second stop) and in building 7B you'd be closer to bus stop 4 (third stop). 7B would also being close to the quiet pool and also the main pool. We wandered around over there when we were there in Dec and even though the Ranchos are the furtherest out, the walk didn't really seem all that far.

The Ranchos section is the only one we've not tried (we've been in the Casitas seven times and the Cabanas one time); however, on our next trip, we plan to ask for the Ranchos because like you, I will really like the looks of it. I dagree with Aubriee and would ask for 6B if possible. As you have a 12 year old and not a 3 year old, I don't think you will find the Ranchos that bad of a walk. Let me put it this way: my friend stayed at the AKL two years ago for a lawyer conference which was being held at the Coronado; the boss
was at the CSR where the meetings were held (best friend decided to go too late and the CSR was booked so he stayed at the AKL). The walk from the Convention center to the room in the Ranchos where his boss was a SHORTER walk than from his room at the AKL to the food court and/or pool. The difference: the walk is outside at the CSR and inside at the AKL. I think you'll be fine.

My husband has been trying to find a new job for over a year. He's in retail sales, and we have just decided that our family would benefit from more stability and a better, more "normal" schedule. He FINALLY made it through the last step in getting a job with the federal government (months after starting the process) and just found out that he'd be starting Feb. 1, with the first 2 weeks being training. We were supposed to go to Disney Feb 6-13. We won't find out until this week if they are going to let him go or not. The anticipation is KILLING me. Don't get me wrong - him getting this job would be so great for our family and I am praying he does. BUT my 3 year old is so excited, I cannot even think about telling her we have to change it. She's been marking off the days until our trip EVERY day on a countdown calendar I made for her since the beginning of November. Every time she watches a Disney movie where Cinderella's castle pops up at the very beginning, she screams "That's where we're going!" And if we don't go in Feb, we probably won't go until early December. I cannot believe after all this planning and anticipation, we might have to wait almost another year!!! No question here. Just venting to all my fellow Disney lovers!! Here's hoping he gets the job AND they let him take the vacation!!!

Great news about the job!! What a mix of emotions though - new exciting job, but long postponement of Disney trip.

What about shorter trip before the job starts? we've done a few long weekends - 4/5 ngts and it's great fun - will hold you over for a longer trip -and good discounts are available right now. ::yes::

Hope everything works out perfectly for you! :goodvibes

Great news about the job...and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it all goes well and that you still can take the vacation. But as Minnie&Nana said, what about a shortened trip for now before hand (a long weekend?) and then a trip in December?

I think Minnie and Nana has a great idea! At 3 years old, your daughter will more than likely love the Magic Kingdom most. You could go and spend time in just that park. WDW really is overwhelming for adults and more so for kids with all of the running around especially on a first trip. Maybe use some of the money you would have spent on a longer vacation to book a meal in Cinderella's castle.
Other options would be to have someone besides your husband go with you or go with your daughter by yourself. My daughter was almost 3 for her first trip and I took her godmother with us because my husband could not take off from work. He came with us a couple of years later and that is the trip she remembers.

My husband and I are planning an adult only trip for early November. We have done many trips, but this would be our first time without our 3 kids. We have always stayed in a deluxe Epcot resort (BWI, BC, YC). We have stayed in these resorts partly because we love the location, but also because we have 5 people in the room.

Now in the process of planning the adult only trip and I am really thinking about CSR over an Epcot resort. I really love the new decor in the rooms-such a huge improvement. The fact that there are queen beds is HUGE to us. We wouldn't consider the other moderates because of the double bed thing. Also, it seems like CSR has some nice bar/lounges. The spread out thing doesn't bother us and we don't mind walking.

I have a few questions. We like the look of the Casistas and the Ranchos sections. Don't really care about being close to the main pool. Close to the health center would be nice. Also, close to a bus stop would be a plus. We probably would grab a counter service breakfast most mornings before heading to the parks. We plan to book a water view room. Which of the two sections should we request?

Also, how is the bus service at CSR? I take it there is an internal bus stop system. If anyone has also stayed at an Epcot resort can you compare the bus service between the two resorts? I know that Epcot resots don't bus people to Epcot or DHS, so I guess just comparing MK, AK, DTD. Any info would be great!

Thanks for all your help!! :goodvibes
