I understand my sons point and respect his feelings but I don't want him to sleep on the floor! We have a waterview room w/ two beds. Any suggestions? Would there even be room for him to sleep on the floor? Help!

I second the air mattress idea - if you don't have one to bring, if you'll have a car, there's easy shopping at WalMart or Target.

Back from our trip. CSR was so beautiful. I only had one issue. While we were there there was a convention (go figure at at convention hotel ). Seems Granger was there, I do not remember seeing that listed on list of conventions. Well the problem is when we checked in I asked for Casita's and a waterview room when I make my ressies as this was close enough to main buildings, by a private pool and close to bus stop. I knew the main pool was closed thanks to this thread. But the CM at the desk insisted we would be much happier away from the convention and put us in Rancho's :scared1:. She pointed out on the map where this was, I voiced my concern about it being the furtherest from main buildings and the distance for walking. We both are not that young anymore:rolleyes1. But she kept insisting this was the way to go. Finally DH gave up and said it was fine. We were close to a bus stop. She mentioned as she handed us the folder if we found we were not happy they would move us. ????? Why not give us what we wanted to begin with? We are ones after we unpack we do not want to repack, and unpack again. No win situation for us. Also note my view was a parking lot.

Let me tell you when ever we wanted to go to the store or Pepper Market. (DH loves it there), We had a big hike ahead of us. Also it took us 3 days to figure out we were bus 4 and not bus 3. Each time going or coming from bus 3 we tended to make a wrong turn. I know not too quick were we. At least once walking from our room to the main building one of the carts for picking up Granger did stop and offer us a ride. Bless that CM. Let me tell you never again am I going to let someone tell me what they think is best for us when I know better.

Poochie, please follow Kathy's suggestion - look at your invoice and see if you PAID for a waterview - if you simply requested it, as in "it'd be nice if we could have a waterview" that's one thing but if you paid for it & didn't receive it you're entitled to a refund for the extra charge for waterview.

Also - please next time ask to be moved. On our last trip, we had a room in Cabanas 9A, checked it out & didn't care for the sound of the HVAC or the room location. We went back to the front desk & they moved us to 8B. (Next time DH says we won't even bring our luggage to the room next time til we make sure we like it :rotfl: )

The CSR CM's WANT you to like CSR so please do ask for change next time. The Ranchos look very pretty & we always have a car so I wouldn't mind trying them BUT if you're walking everywhere forget it!

Ok, done rambling........ oh Kathy I think 'football' in Brazil is soccer?

We're staying at CSR 4/13-4/20. It is our first trip ever to disney and can't wait! However, it will be myself, husband, son (17), and daughter (8). I can sleep with my daughter, but my son is not thrilled with the idea of sleeping with his stepfather and said he'd sleep on the floor. : (

We had the EXACT same situation when we stayed at CSR. We got an inflatable TWIN mattress. It fit perfectly between the bottom of the beds and the dresser. Just be sure to get everything you need out before your son goes to sleep! Mousekeeping will provide you with extra blankets as well, just call when you arrive. Easy to deflate/inflate with the pump and he said it was really comfortable. Hope that helps.

Online check-in lists refrigerators on all of their check ins (value, moderate, deluxe, etc). This is because you MUST request it for a value. All of the moderates and above come with a fridge at no cost to you.

I know that the gift shop at the CSR has milk and snack stuff; I'm not sure about the pull-ups (my kids are 21 and almost 24 so I've not needed those in a while. ;) ). As for fresh fruit, I know they have this at Cafe Rix.

Thanks so much. I think we'll just rely on what's there and not order in advance. Honestly, I'm not really worried about the Pull-Ups - I can just bring some from home. So glad there's a fridge, though... makes a huge difference for us!

Just booked CSR for April 24-30, cant wait. Went from Pop to CBR to AKV to ASMU now to CSR. I'm finished changing now! I think CSR will be great!

We're taking a last minute trip to WDW Feb. 16th. We have the Beach Club booked but are thinking of switching to Coronado (have stayed at both before). Have just read here that the Dig Site is under renovation. When is it due to open?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Here's a tip if you are not driving and don't want to pack an air mattress. Look at Amazon.com and find one that has a built in pump. I'm not sure the rules on posting links so I'll just tell you that I can find this...

"Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump" on Amazon for only 36.40 with free super saver shipping. I also understand that you can ship things to your resort up to 2 weeks prior to arrival. So have it shipped before your stay. And for that price just leave it or see if another DISer wants to grab it.

The pool is scheduled to reopen today. Hopefully, someone who is there now or coming back in the next day or two, can confirm that it has indeed opened.

We will be arriving tomorrow afternoon and if no one has updated before then, I will post whether it's open or not once we get checked in and start to explore the resort :)

Hello Everybody!

We just booked another vacation at WDW, and this time we're staying at CSR!! Definitely looking forward to it. The pics we've seen have really got us excited, as do the updated rooms.

I'm eager to read through this thread and learn from everyone's experiences.

Welcome, Scott. Glad to have you here with us. There are plenty of knowledgable CSR fans here, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Can you tell me where the Hot tubs are located? What are there Standard rate buildings/room that would be the closest to them?

There is only one hot tub and it is located by the main pool. The Ranchos and the Cabanas are closest to the main pool.

The room photos at the start of this thread are they a standard room or a more VIP type? I like the doors off the vanity area.

1 Large Hot tub at the Dig Site. Cabana's 8A or Ranchos 7B would be closest.

I just, today, booked my trip to WDW in May 2010, and I am looking forward to staying on Disney property for the first time since I was 12!

I have been reading reviews on Coronado on other websites, and have seen some crazy stories. I have read here, however, that everyone is very happy with their stay at CSR.

I'm sure it is mentioned on one of the 40 something pages of this thread, but I was just wondering what area of the resort do people recommend? Walking isn't really an issue for my dad and me, so I was just curious which areas people liked most?

Also, is it fairly easy to get a room before normal check-in time, since we're driving? Do they let you request where your room is?

Any information would be great!! Help me get rid of all the bad comments I have read about CSR, because I am SO excited to stay there for the first time!!!

Thank you!!

I can do on-line check -in tomorrow...I cannot believe we're this close!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

You are going to read good reviews and bad reviews of every single resort (our worse stay on Disney property was a tie between All Star Sports and the Contemporary). People tend to bring up the bad more than the good. I can tell you in eight stays at the CSR we have never had a bad stay. We've had a minor issue here or there with something in the room not working or something and it was immediately taken care of. The biggest thing to remember: if you have a problem, go to Registration and ask to speak to a manager. There is an assistant manager on duty during "off hours" so don't let them tell you there is no one to deal with the problem.

You can request a certain section/building, etc., however, it is just a request, and not a guarantee. We've received what we requested seven out of eight times (and the one time we got the section, just not the building).

Our personal favorite is Casitas 4 and 5...close to the quiet pool, fitness center/spa and the first bus stop picked up and dropped off (Bus Stop 2). It takes me and DH (we are both 50+) about five minutes to walk to the main building (seven minutes if DH is with me...he has shorter legs :rotfl:) and about eight minutes to to the main pool.

There are a lot of knowledgable CSR fans here on the CSR thread so please do not hesitate to ask any other questions.
