We are going in May and taking 4 kids..Ages 7,12,14,16
I have had a few Suggest Coronado Springs.....What about Pop Century?? Is it alot better to stay at a moderate??? Our first trip was last year and we stayed at All Star Sports. They definately like the pictures of the pool areas (slides) at the moderates but they were happy at the All Star also.We have had a rough year with the loss of their grandma to lung and brain cancer and I just want this trip to be all about them and letting them enjoy themselves!Any suggestions on where to stay would be greatly appreciated!!!THANKS!

CSR has a great 123 ft slide at the main pool along with a playground, arcade, sand volleyball court and snack bar. I don' think value resorts have these amenities.

Check out my CSR website below for pics of everything I mentioned.

My seven year old son LOVED Coronado Springs! We have stayed there four different times and loved it better each time! It was beautiful last year around the holidays. The play area is the best at disney, it even has swings. The pool area is great with a nice slide. I also liked the game room, the pool bar, and the food court. It is beautiful to walk around at night too. We never had any problems with the bus system either. One night we had a fried chicken dinner delivered to the room with all the fixings- it was great!
All in all, we loved it!

I have two boys, 21 & 15, and have been going to WDW since they were young. After they were old enough to go off on their own they liked staying at POFQ because they could take the boat to DD and spend time at Disney Quest or shop with out us. They also liked the resort. The pool, food court, and short walk to POR to rent boats. We are staying at POR our trip in March/April and hope they like it as well. We figure they will still have the boat to DD and all the other things that POFQ has to offer, plus a few extras.

His favorite resort of all is Coronado Springs !

His HS team is going down in spring and he is even asking them to upgrade from ASSp to CSR like they did last time 'cause he wants to go back !

Loves big pool with food and arcade there, big slide, beach volleyball, oversized hot tub, big portions and selection of pepper market, water amenities, path around lake for running in am and easy transportation for them to get to parks and DTD..........

Yep! Do the CSR!! Our DS15 LOVES the slide and would stay there all day if we let him!

CSR! DD 8 and DS 10 loved it! They loved the pool, not having to share buses with other resorts, and the white sand on the "beach" with the hammoks :goodvibes

Contrary to popular belief my DS14 did not like CSR he preferred POP or ALL Star Sports but then again those were the only three he has stayed at. We visited POR and he said he liked that one better.

We have a DS (now 12) who loved CSR when we first stayed there when he was 6. It's still his favorite resort and our favorite moderate. The slide and pool are great and the whole resort is just beautiful. The Pepper Market has a wide variety of good tasting food and there are 2 arcades. I really think CSR is your best bet!!! Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

Now I am being torn. Does anyone know how long the slide is at Caribbean Beach Resort. That was going to be our pick, but CSR sounds pretty good. I have a DS8.

I love CSR as does my DD although for very different reasons. She loves the pool, playground and the Two Arcades. She also loves the quiet pools and general feel of the place.

I like those things too but my favorite thing is the one thing that most people complain about -- The Pepper Market. This is my take. I recently stayed at POP (had a great time but). We went to the food court for breakfast. By the time we got our food, stood in line to pay, got our drinks, and found a table, our food was cold. We had to search out a table (they even had the area by the bar open for seating) and got run over by a young boy whos mother had spotted a table and told him to run and get it. I had to replace two drinks that were laying on the floor after our runin. Things like that simply don't happen at CSR. Your given a table, get your food and sit down at that table -- no searching. A waiter brings your drinks so no chance of them being spilled. And when you are done you pay. The variety of food offered is also much better than at the other hotel food courts.

I also like the spread out feeling. At POP I felt like all the building were crammed in. At CSR the stroll to the main building is beautiful and relaxing. Even though they now have trams to take you around, unless I'm very tired, I still would walk.

Buzz should answer that as he's got the best information regarding CSR anywhere. I can never remember the names of the sections except that the Ranchos are the furthest away. I think the Casita's are the closest to El Centro. And the other named section is the closest to the Dig site. There are buildings in the "other"section that are also very close to the main bldg. as well.

Buzz where are you Buzz?

Any suggestions on room requests close to the dig site and food areas at CS?Thanks again!

Cabana 9B Building would be the most preferrable for you. It is close to both the Dig Site and El Centro.

Hi, We stayed at Pop in April with our 14 yr. old son and he was not thrilled with the pool as there was not a slide. It was really geared to younger children. The arcade and food court were fine. Have never stayed at CSR.

Ah, to be young and energetic enough to RUN in the morning before spending all day in the parks... :rotfl2:

I am his :cheer2: Running is the sport of choice for my kids. DS put in 600 miles last summer, and runs every day 4 - 14 miles each day.

It actually seems to GIVE them energy........maybe I should try it
