Any comments on this resort? I am wondering if it is in good condition or if it is looking and feeling shabby. I visited Carribean Beach last summer and did not like it at all (of course, shortly after that they closed it for refurbishing).

I am also interested in knowing how the pool is and how the bus transportation is.

Thanks for your help!!

Visited CSR oct/nov this year didnt look shabby to me. Both DH and myself thought the theming was great. We both enjoyed pool (think I heard it was having a rehab at the moment) and there hot tub is HUGE. We stayed in the Cabanas section which was convenient to both the food court and the pool, if we had stayed in the ranchos I think I would have become very annoyed at the distance to the food court. Bus service was good (only 1 long wait) nice not having to share the bus route with other resorts. If I hadnt have bought into DVC iI would have been tempted to go back. Have fun :D

I find CSR the "Deluxe" of the moderates.
The main pool is awesome. Great Theming!
The Pepper Market is what many people debate. You are seated in a food court and have a server that will bring you drinks, clear your table, etc...You are given a card that you take to various food stations. Upon picking a selection they willl stamp it and give you your food. (I have a menu on my website) They do charge a 10% gratuity at the Pepper Market. In my opinion it was well worth it. You could easily mix and match meals. They also have a nice full service restaurant that has a great Breakfast Buffet. Maya Grill is also open for dinner.
The Ranchos are the furthest away from El Centro (the main building) and the Pepper Market. There are 4 bus stops at the resort and we found the transportation fabulous. We always had a seat and never waited more than 10 minutes or so.
If you want proximity to the Digsite Theme Pool and the Pepper Market I suggest the Cabana 9A or 9B. I was in Casita 1 and it was only about a 6 minute walk from my room to the Digsite. Not bad at all.
I have lots of pics on my site as well as a map. Enjoy :)

Hmmmmm, I am curious as to what you didn't like about the Caribbean Beach Resort? We were there the second week of June 2002 and stayed in Jamaica. Our room was a waterview and it was spectacularly clean and large. We just loved our nearby quiet pool. The laundry was great. The lake and beach and hammocks were serene. The walk to the bridge and across the island to eat was rather long but I expected that due to the size of the resort. We loved the island and its birds, ducks, fish and turtles. The large pool was a bit cold but we enjoyed the theme. I thought the restaurant was fine but it has now been changed quite a bit. So what didn't you like? We are trying the CSR as the rooms are very similar but the theming is different.

We spent 9 days at CSR this summer. It was our least favorite of all the moderates. The room was very shabby compared the every other Disney resort I've ever vacationed at. I guess some rooms are utilized more than others and we just had one in desperate need of renovation. We still had a wonderful time... You really cannot go wrong at Disney... every resort has it's own brand of magic. .but I would not choose to stay there again. By the way...POR Riverside was our personal favorite of the moderates.:D

Forgot to mention that the only "wear" I found in my room was on the carpet. But then again most Disney hotel rooms I've stayed at have had some carpet wear.

Have stayed at CSR 5 times and have yet to be dissappointed in anything. Love the Pepper Market, the Dig Site, the bus service and the beauty of this resort. You can check out my website below for photos and info.

epcotfan & Buzz2001!!!!!!
Your two fan sites were poured over by my DW and I and you two made us choose the CSR. Like I said before, we really enjoyed the CBR this past June. We figured, why would anyone go anywhere else? Well, of course it's nice to experience something different so when we decided to go back again next summer, we had to pick another moderate resort. We are verrrrry excited to go again!

Thanks...I just hope it lives up to your expectations as much as it did ours. Have a great trip and enjoy because the bottom line is its DISNEY!!
