We had an interesting situation happen to us during our recent WDW trip. We visited Epcot on 2/14 and it was 7:25 p.m. when we were leaving the park. We were interested in taking a bus to Downtown Disney for one last purchase at Goofy's Candy Shop. We were on our way to the Pop bus stop when we approached a Disney bus driver near the Coronado Springs bus stop. We asked him if there was a direct bus to DD from Epcot and he said no but that since the bus for Coronado Springs was getting ready to leave we could just hop on that bus and transfer to the DD bus at CS. Sounded good to us and our feet since we were aways from the Pop bus. Off we went on the CS bus. I knew this was a convention hotel also. We rode around the resort, stop 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, getting off at 1, the main lobby. There we waited for some time for the DD bus along with others. During this time a group of convention goers also arrived at the bus stop to also head to DD and Pleasure Island. Finally the DD bus arrived and we all got on. There is where our problem began! The group was short one in their party. To our dismay one of the members of the group went up to the bus driver and talked to him. He proudly came back to his group proclaiming that all was taken care of, he had paid the bus driver to wait because they were short one in their group. I couldn't believe my ears. Our driver pulled the bus up closer to the main lobby and we waited and waited for this one adult. I was so disgusted. Finally after at least 10 minutes this one gentlemen got on the bus. We then finally started our trip to DD going around the resort again to each stop and then off to DD. Having been to DD before via the Pop bus I knew that we dropped off first at the Marketplace and then Pleasure Island. We of course did the opposite on this trip. Was this appropriate I'm not sure. It might have been but I'm not sure. Finally we got to the Marketplace. It took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there from Epcot. I went to the front of the bus and talked to our driver. I told him how happy I was to see how well money talked at WDW. I did get his first name also which I won't repeat here on the boards. I received a survey from WDW and have let them know of this incident also. Is this normal???? I sure hope not. Lesson learned, I will never take a bus to CS to get to DD. Thanks for letting me shart. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I'm sure this is a wonderful resort, we just happened to end our trip with this experience. Lucky US! Thanks, Lynn

I would have been very mad! I have never experienced what you did, and I hope I never do. Don't just fill out the survey, write a letter detailing what happened. You are owed an apology, at the very least.

that is really rude and terrible, very unprofessional. why should you have to wait for one dufus to get his act together? plus paying off the bus driver!!!?? i'm glad you wrote disney! let us know what they say..

Your post really peeved me off. I'm soooo sick of people who think nothing of totally inconveniencing others for their own needs. (Reminds me of when people miss their turn and then block traffic trying to get over instead turning around). How rude on both parts, the moron guest and the smarmy bus driver. That whole group should have exited the bus and waited for their friend and let the bus go. I'm shocked the bus driver agreed and took the bribe. Totally NOT Disney in my book. I'd definitely write the "Higher Ups".

Does anyone know the address to write the higher ups in case my comments in the survery don't go anywhere? I'm glad to see a few of you think I'm not crazy for being upset about this. You never know if you're reaction is right. I just couldn't believe what was happening. I think what upset me the most was that this was an adult who couldn't find his group on his own. I was also peeved that this man who was doing the pay off didn't apologize to those of us who weren't in his group. It still makes me mad to think about it. I'd better stop. But like I said, thanks for the vote of confidence. It helps.

It's too late now, but I would have talked to Guest Services/Concierge when I got back to Pop, told them what happened, and politely but firmly demanded that a Transportation Supervisor call me. I've done that before, and I've been successful (I described the incident, we discussed it, it wasn't anything that could be resolved - having already occurred - but the woman I spoke with was very nice, and even offered to send a van to pick me up to take me to MGM!

You should have gone into the resort while the bus was sitting there waiting and complained to the manager rather than waiting to get home. 10 mins would have been plenty of time to complain to the manager.

I'm bumping this to the top of the page to see if I can get an address to send a letter regarding this situation. Anyone out there have that??? Thanks, Lynn

Next time, take the monorail to the TTC and catch the bus there or at Cont or Poly. We've done this when trying to get from MK to AK for eveing EMH. Stay away from the mods when trying to do a bus switch, they are all large and have lots of stops. We noticed on our last stay at the Dolphin lots and lots of conventioneers heading to DD and PI in the evenings. This is also true at CSR unfortunately. Nothing excuses the bus driver from holding up the whole bus!

we will be staying at the CSR this Dec and I would never get on a bus until my whole party was there! There are some people who think the world revolves around them!
