I can tell you what is going on, because we will be there. There is a national dance competition going on from July 9 - 12 and the convention hotel is CSR. The competition is being held at the ABC Studios in Disney Studios (MGM). We booked our rooms back in January for the convention rate of $94 per night. When I tried to add a few days to the back end of the competition in March, they were already full.
The regional qualifying competition for the Chicago area is this weekend. I would imagine that the other regions are having their qualifying rounds within the next few weeks. Keep trying - it may open up based on the outcome of the regionals.
