As a long time AP holder, Ive stayed at pretty much every resort on property except All Stars or Coronado. So for this trip we got a great deal on Coronado and decided to give it a shot. The online check in was smooth and we even got there a bit early and just went through the line at the front desk which was non existent and they went ahead and gave us a room. We chose to not have mousekeeping and received the credit on a gift card which worked out great. So far Id say no complaints and smooth. The construction doesnt bother me because its part of upgrading the resort and had zero effect on my impressions of the place as a whole.
Our room was in Casitas 3, 4th floor, corner room. The new rooms are absolutely deluxe level rooms. Great beds, love the storage space underneath, fridge, coffeemaker, great bathroom and shower. Certainly a step above other moderates, more in line with the preferred rooms at Riverside. I would say comparable to some of the deluxe resort rooms at AKL, WL, and Saratoga Springs.

Now for the resort itself. Preferred rooms are a good 5 minute or so walk to the bus stop or main building. Which isnt horrible since at Port Orleans riverside or FQ if you are out there, youd have the same walk. The Pool was ok, but, not spectacular. Maybe 3rd in line for moderates behind FQ and Riverside. They had activities for kids and the pool bar is very well run.
The negatives are more fo a personal taste. The resort lacks an "authentic" feel. The pepper market is really bad, the gift shop feels almost sanitized, and the CMs seemed almost bored to be there. I realize its just a job but, for me, overall the resort lacks the feel that FQ and Riverside have as authentic and unique to their theme.

Overall would I stay there again? If the price was good maybe. But, after staying at Art of Animation in March, I would stay there before Coronado and I certainly would put it below FQ and Riverside in overall feel and enjoyment for a resort.
