Coronado Pepper Market was HORRIBLE!!!

We also had a disappointing experience at Pepper Market last month. It was not worth the money in any way. Do not try to get a refill in your mug after 11pm...the whole thing is locked up! My husband hated his meal and our daughters hot dog was just plain gross! (how do you mess up a hot dog?)

We have always had good experiences at PM. We normally eat at off times.

We have eaten from the Grill menu, the pizza type things and the quesadillas. All were excellent.

It is a bit confusing at first but we learned our way around quickly. We have always had wonderful and helpful servers!

The desserts are an ever changing thing. The first time we ate there you can have any dessert and we had the best carrot cake and a chocolate cake! YUM YUM.

The next time it was a cookie or a brownie and now they offer an assortment but still not the premium goodies. Oh Well.

It is still a great meal for a CS credit. Plus the walk out to the dig area and back is a great way to relax after an evening meal!

I would have to agree---we walked in, didn't know which way to go---extremely confusing----the food we ate there was pretty good. We got burgers to go, ate in our room---the layout of the place was really different, neither of were real taken with the place.

Thanx for the info ~ Shame you had such a negative experience.

I didn't mean to sound negative, the food, that we ate, was good, the layout of the restaurant was confusing, at least to me----we're used to VWL, Roaring Forks. I like smaller places better---it all depends on what you like. If I found myself at CSR again, I wouldn't hesitate to go in for a burger---I'd just get it to go.

WE were at CS a couple of years ago. PM was not my favorite and yes quite confusing. I didn't like having to pay a 10%tip for a CS with 4 children in tow. The food was good, but when you just want a quick meal we just took it to go. We are returning to CS, (because it was the only rooms available with a discount ) and we are getting the DDP. I am hoping that the combination makes PM more agreeable to me. I think it will, which is why I am looking forward to it this time. I know more of what to expect.

I agree with you, going back would be easier, since you'd know what to expect and how it all works.

On out last trip to CS we had 2 dinners there one was good and the other just horrible. (To the point of having to get the manager to explain how our server was just the worse we have ever had)
Seems to be luck of the draw. Steaks were good, pasta dishes were good, the Chinese and Mexican was not so good.

I only thought it was confusing until I actually got there. It was very easy, to me. DH and I used the same card, i chose something and then handed the card to him and he got his food and we usually met up at the same time at the table. when you have refillable mugs u can get your own drinks, which we did most times, and hardly dealt with servers at all. Frankly i felt bad for the servers because they were more like busboys who just cleared off tables. We NEVER had a problem with the food, it was always AWESOME! we ate there i think 4 times on our trip for lunches, dinners and a breakfast. the food was always freshly made, as in we watched it being made, as opposed to a reg food court where the food site a lot of the time. I also found the card system easier than reg food courts where u are carrying a tray to the cashier and trying not to drop anything, with pm its simple hand them only the card and u are on your way. This is just my opinion!

I spent an entire week at a convention at the Coronado last August and was more or less stuck with the Pepper Market. The system is confusing the first time around, but you can get used to it. The food I had a real problem with--sometimes it was quite good, other times it was just awful. We often encountered food that had obviously passed its use-by date--biscuits that had hardened, chicken that had aquired that refrigerator taste, cole slaw that had spoiled. I would not eat there if I had a choice--don't feel like playing food roulette.

Is PM the only location to refill the mugs? I thought that I read that they have another location to do refills as well. Does anyone know? Thanks

No, you can refill at Sietas at the pool, Francisco's (the bar near the PM), and the little window outside the PM. Along with the PM, that makes 4 locations. The PM is the one that is open the earliest and latest.

OMG! We got my son a hot dog too and looked so gross too! He refused to eat it and honestly I couldn't even make him have a bite.

BUT we love the Pepper Market! It is a hit or miss place though, we have been before with HORRIBLE service from servers and the cooks. We usually get steak or prime rib (paying OOP) and they usually are out of baked potatoes! ask if you want the veggies (even though as another posted said, they are included) and have to wait behind tons of people. But it is super duper good! I also love the Mexican station! And love that the food is fresh for the most part.

It is more then disappointing to pay the 10% when my server never once comes back to see if I need more drink or a steak knife!

We hated PM. we tried it twice over two weeks, and both times I found it very stressful. Its probably not so bad if you don't have kids, but you have to take it in turns to go and order so you're all eating at different times (and paces!). I didn't find the system overall confusing, but if you wanted steak it was as there were no lines, just a sort of crow milling about waiting for the cook to deign to take the order, then waiting for him to fill it. Had to wait ages for chips too!

I had chicken calzone and was really sick the next day =- completely ruined my CP breakfast! (which was my birthday celebration).

Eat in the maya Grill or get prepacked lunches from the place next door.

By the way, the refillable cup window at the pool closed at 6.00 when we were there (Easter 2005)

Wow - sorry for those who have had bad experiences. I can take bad service with the best of 'em, but bad or "dangerous" food - yikes!

Looks like a balance between good and bad reviews, so here's hoping we experience the good! We are staying at CSR in May with 5-yr old Daughter for our first trip to WDW - so excited! We planned on the PM for many CS credits -plus made some ressies for the Maya Grill B and D.

A different post stated that the premium desserts are included in the "combo" type CS credit at PM?? Anything sweet would be fine, but some of the pics of there non-cookie/brownie desserts looked INCREDIBLE! Whichever is cool, just curious.
