Coronado or French Quarter

Currently booked for one night at Coronado. With the pool going down, I’m second guessing the decision. Wondering if a pool view room at French quarter is the better choice at an extra $100 for the night. Thoughts?

If the pool is important, I would switch. POFQ is a very nice resort too.

The pool at FQ is heavily geared towards younger kids (I'd say about 7 and under), I don't know if anyone in your party fits that description. :)
Everyone in my family is age 12 or older, so FQ wouldn't be an attractive option to me because of that.

You can also walk over to the pools at Port Orleans Riverside.
If the guests in your party are really looking forward to the pool slides and afternoon parties/activities, it might be worth switching. But if your party is all adults that just want a quick dip in the pool, I would just use the quiet pools at Coronado and save the money.

Is pool view the only option for your dates? I’d book a cheaper room category if possible and stay at POFQ.

I’d do POFQ over Coronado and I’d take Any room, not pool view. All close enough, lovely outside bar and tables, good food ( though I prefer POR... a lovely 12 minute walk along the Sassaghoula River on a lighted path)
Enjoy!!! Beautiful resort.. perhaps take the boat to POR or Disney springs, wonderful!!

Was typing as u said only option... I’d still do POFQ

Our family likes the POFQ pool, but finds the slide to be less then thrilling.

I think I’ll change it. The website is not allowing me to do it online and I don’t want to pay for the call. I’ll take my chances and change it once I’m down there next week. If it isn’t available, oh well.

The great thing is being allowed to use the pool at POR.
So true, one of the reasons that the 2 PO resorts are are favorite Mods. But CSR's slide is definitely better then the PO's, but we like the pools at PO's better.

I agree the slide at CSR is much nicer. But it sounds like the pool will be closed for their visit.

Coronado will still have the other pools open just the big pool is closed, if that matters. For me an extra $100 for just one night is a lot. I’m also not all that keen on POFQ’s pool unless you have little ones

Sound advice. Oh, I’ll probably just leave it. I’m usiall very decisive. We are dvc but going cash this visit so we are at a new resort. Quite the adventure! We will have been six nights at Art of Animation prior to this evening.

You do know about the Coronado construction, right? I just mention it because it seems like it's in a lot of the common areas now and some videos I've seen it's pretty loud around a good portion of the resort.

a1tink,

We only recently discovered POFQ and it is now one of our absolute favorites. We have not stayed at POR, though we've visited it.

What is it you prefer about POR over POFQ? We may want to try it too.

Yes I do. That’s why I’m reticent about Coronado. I know it’s just one night, but it’s a special mini trip with my twins and I want it to be lovely. I’m leaning towards spending the hundred dollars.
