Also, a note about our housekeeping: one day we realized our soap by the sink wasn't replaced so we assumed the mousekeeper would replace it when she made up the room the following morning. Well again, she didn't so I had to call housekeeping & request a bar of soap be sent up to our room. I know this sounds like I'm being really picky, but I'm on vacation & I was getting sick of having to take the soap fromn the tub & put it near the sink. Within a half hour someone from housekeeping appeared at our door with a small plastic bag filled with around 8 bars of soap & a bunch of shampoos & conditioners.

It's nice to hear that they made up for the missing items. I totally understand where you are coming from. Thanks for sharing the positive outcome! It just goes to show that mousekeeping isn't always perfect at ANY resort at ANY price point but they can and do make it up to guests in a positive way.

Just back from a week long stay at CSR....Aug 12 - 19

We stayed in a Handicap King Room in Casitas 5 (I didn't like it at first but it grew on me as the trip went on)

The grounds are gorgeous and worth the time to simply walk around.

They were installing new mattresses while we stayed there...I took pictures of course.

We ate at the Pepper Market twice and both times the food was simply so-so. Not bad....but nothing to right home about either.

There were conventioneers there but we rarely saw them unless we were around the main building.

Other than that.....I really enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, if given the opportunity.

A preferred room opened up for our dates switched from CSR to CBR preferred!! I'm loving looking at all these pictures.

We definately are planning on CSR for next. The refurb will be done by then too. If they have a bounceback offer in our room we will be booking it. Also we want to go over and try the Pepper Market this trip. I will take some pics while I'm there. DH and I love mexican food so it works out great. Thanks everyone.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I actually forced a CM to confirm over the phoe that they are swapping the beds out at CSR!!!! I had to be very persistant and tralk to 3 people but finally got verbal conframation that yes they will eventually all get queen beds and the process has been started!!!!

They used to have different color schemes depending on the village. After the 2005 rehab, then went to a generic bedspread pictured above.

Here is one of the old ones. Cabana I think. But none of them ever really match the rug.

It must be a girl thing (or at least some of us girls), but I'm tellin' ya, those bedspreads are sad, homely looking things.

Don't worry though. I still think CSR looks fantastic and can't wait to stay there this December. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a newly refurbished room.....hopefully with different bedspreads.

I agree, and another plus is.......we know that under those ugly bedspreads at our "home away from home" are nice, new, comfortable QUEEN size beds!

(Who sleeps with a hotel bedspread on the bed anyway? We never do. I strip them off right away because they aren't washed enough (yuck factor) and usually they're too heavy.)

They are getting new ones in the rehab in October so we'll have to wait and see what they will look like then.
