We are celebrating our 1-year anniversary at CSR in October. Has anyone asked to be upgraded for free and gotten this request? Say to a lake view or a king bed? Just wondering! Hoping for some pixie dust!!

Just back from a wonderful vacation! We enjoyed csr. Yes it is big, but very beautiful. I requested cabana/but got rancho..was alittle sad. We were in room 7612 building 7b. We were in the back of the building, parking lot view..in the end it was a great location..short walk to bus stop#4. the quiet pool was in our building. A short walk to the dig site.
The pool is great/always a seat. My kids loved the slide and hot tub.
The busses were crowed....we did always get a seat....bus stop#1 many had to stand. never waited more that 15 min.
Our room was clean. We never did get any towel animals:mad:
The resort seemed very busy. but never overcrowed.
any questions i'd be glad to answer
I'm glad i read all the info on the dis for the csr.
thanks all you csr disers:thumbsup2
Welcome back!

We're going in September for our 1st anniversary and made sure to mention that when we booked. We'll keep you updated if we get upgraded or anything else special.

I hope you have a great trip!

I think it's only about $15 per night to upgrade to a guaranteed king bed room. I think it's worth it, especially because the king rooms are usually on the corners and you get two windows, which makes the room feel larger and gives so much more light.

and the resort was beautiful as usual. This was our third year in a row there.

We weathered Fay just fine...actually had the MK all to ourselves on Tuesday (or so it felt...we never waited for any ride all day long...they were letting people just stay on the rides and keep going if they chose!)

You would have never known that a storm was blowing around the resort - they kept it very clean and picked up, even while it was happening.

The Pepper Market was great as usual...we ate there 3 times during the week, and never had a bad meal. We also tried the Maya Grill for the first time, and found it lovely as well. Their selection for the kid's meals was the best out of any on property that we encountered. Both of my kids actually were allowed Cheese Sticks as appetizers on the DDP...it was more than enough to share for the 4 of us. The only thing that I was not a huge fan of was the oak-fired method they used to grill the steaks. It seemed very overwhelming for the beef, but for some reason the fish was great on the oak planks.

Bussing was very good - we only had one long wait at Epcot one night, but I think we had just missed a bus, and it was just prior to Illuminations starting, so the big push to get visitors out of the parks hadn't started yet. We did notice that both the parks and the resort seemed much busier than we were used to at the beginning of our week, but I chalk that up to the fact that we normally vacation at the very end of August into Sept...crowds are just normally less at that time. Even so, we utilized fastpass as much as we could and didn't ever wait longer than 30 minutes for anything while we were there...can't complain about that!

One of the big reasons we have for continuing to return to CSR is because we've always gotten really great service there. This year we had a very bad experience with housekeeping. Every other year, we have had our room kept well stocked with soap, shampoo, etc and had our room spotlessly cleaned. This year, our housekeeper completely missed us our first day - and we were in the parks all day long. The next couple of days, we had used all of our shampoo and soap (we travel very light due to airline constrictions) and she did not leave more. I left her a note the next morning, and she did restock...but managed to leave our door WIDE open all day long. We didn't return to the room until after 11pm that night, so obviously it was left gaping open for a very long time. The very next day, my 6 year old DS got sick (too much junk food and sun during the day) and threw up in bed. I called housekeeping for new sheets - they promised to run them right up to us, and never arrived. I called again - and still no sheets. I put the kids in the clean bed, and my DH and I slept on top of the bedspread that night. When she did clean - it wasn't a great job...it didn't look like the vacuum was ever run, and I could tell the floor of the bathroom was never mopped the entire week we were there. I know that these things are completely dependent on which housekeeper you are assigned to, but it does put a damper on an otherwise great vacation.

I do still love the resort, but I'd have to think very long and hard about returning there again. We may end up finally trying something else!:)
Thanks for posting! Sorry about your housekeeping issue but it doesn't seem as if it dampened your stay.

hello - we just returned from CSR Castitas 5 & I loved the resort. I plan to stay there again next visit which hopefully will be Nov 2009. enjoyed the Pepper Market food and the way it was set up. Did not make it to Maya Grill - rushing around every morning.

We also saw the unloading of the mattresses when we left for the parks the one morning.

The resorts did an awesome job of keeping guests updated on the storms by sending messages to the phones with park hours and plans - maybe too good a job cuz the MK was jammed on Monday with people trying to "get it in" before it hit. We went out again anyway on tues to DS and MK again in the evening. Fantasyland can be done in an hour if theres a good amount of rain and wind. We had a blast anyway - won't ever forget it!!
Welcome back and thanks for sharing!

Are these Buffalo wings??!! OR Florida's VERSION of them??!

Can someone confirm for me that they book a standadrd room and got queen beds? I just spoke to both the front desk at CSR and someone at reservations that told me that they are ONLY available in club level rooms, and that they have not been informed of any plans to convert standard rooms to queen beds????

I just spoke to both the front desk at CSR
I've been told that even if you call the resort itself, and they answer "Coronado Springs", they're still in a centralized location and not actually at the resort. So I wouldn't put too much stock in that phone call.

JamesLynn, who actually works at Coronado, has confirmed on this thread that standard rooms are getting or already have queen beds.

We just returned from CSR late last nt. & our double beds were moved out & replaced with Queen beds & new sheets, blankets, pillows, & bedspreads on Monday, Aug. 18th.
Also, Tues. Aug. 19 was nice & empty all morning at MK due to the news reports about the tropical storm scaring most people away. We left MK around 2:45 when it had just started raining...was a perfect morning. We walked on most rides or had very short waits. Once we returned to CSR the skies opened up & the winds were very bad.

are the bespreads a new design or just new versions of the old bespreads?

Also, a note about our housekeeping: one day we realized our soap by the sink wasn't replaced so we assumed the mousekeeper would replace it when she made up the room the following morning. Well again, she didn't so I had to call housekeeping & request a bar of soap be sent up to our room. I know this sounds like I'm being really picky, but I'm on vacation & I was getting sick of having to take the soap fromn the tub & put it near the sink. Within a half hour someone from housekeeping appeared at our door with a small plastic bag filled with around 8 bars of soap & a bunch of shampoos & conditioners.

They are exactly the same as the old bedspreads. They just looked very fresh. We always freak out when we first enter our hotel room because my younger son loves to lay on top of the bed & we immediately yell at him not to & pull down the bedspread. Well right after the beds were changed, we actually let him sit on top of the bedspread...it was big joke in our family.

Do you have pics of the new Bedspreads?? Would love to see them. Does the room seem really squishy wit hthe larger beds? Thanks.

thx for the quick reply!

lol I do the same thing and it's a running joke in my family too, my son layed on the bed right when we got in the room on our last stay and I let out a long "Noooooooooooooooooooo". I'm anti-hotel bedspread too!
