Staying at Coronado for one night on my vacation pouints prior to moving over to SSR for 7 nights.....anybody been there? Any comments? It's only one night but my other choice was Carribean Beach and I just went with what I thought would be good. What are your thoughts? I never really see any comments on this particular maderate...it would be interesting!

I've stayed at the CBR and it was really nice. We ate dinner at the Coronado (Peppermarket), I liked the look of that hotel much more than the CBR....next time I'm going to try there instead.

I also love the look of Coronado, especially the Ranchos section. Pepper market is also a good place to eat.

But remember it is geared for the Conventions!

It be very crowded!

I had a friend stay there while her husband was there for a conference, they said they really enjoyed the resort and the girls enjoyed the pool!

Try it!

We stayed there last October for 8 nights & loved it. It's a beautiful resort and we didn't feel like we were at a convention resort at all. I think we saw people in "work clothes" once or twice near the Pepper Market but it certainly didn't affect us at all.

The rooms are beautiful, the pool is one of the best on WDW property IMHO and the grounds are gorgeous. My only complaint (and the reason I probably wouldn't choose to stay there again) is that it's HUGE. For a quick stay like you're doing, it would be fine. But I found it a real pain to walk such a long distance to get to the main building all the time (ie. re-fill mugs, go to food court, pick up parcels, etc) but that's just me...it doesn't bother some people and CSR is their favourite resort. That's why I love POFQ...it's so compact and everything is convenient.

It's a great resort..go and enjoy it. :D

Thanks for the info! It's nice to have the flexability of the DVC...I am really starting to see that now. we can use our points to try a few nights here and there. This is our first attempt at it so wish us luck!

thanks again everyone!:cat:

We stayed at CSR for a few nights, one July trip and enjoyed it very much. We were in a Casitas building, not far from El Centro.

Dh and I enjoyed going down to the little coffee bar beside the food court, for a late night snack. Then we'd go for a stroll around the lake, before turning in for the night.

I thought it was a very pretty resort!

We stayed there for two weeks back in April of 2000. It is a very pretty resort and very spread out. The pool and playground are awesome though. The only thing I really despised and which is why I'll never stay there again is the tip that they add to your meal at the Pepper market (food court) automatically. I think it was 10%. For what??? You still have to go up to the individual food court stations, order and pick up your own food. They do fill your mugs for you though. Guess what, for 10% I'm quite capable of filling my own refillable mug. We only ate there twice the whole time we were there because of the tip thing. The main restaurant was very nice though.

Enjoy the resort, because it is very nice.

Actually I really enjoy the Pepper Market and find it well worth a gratuity. I've always gotten great service and the portions are huge. It is the one place where you can truly customize a meal.
I also like being seated and not having to hunt around for a table.

I've stayed at CBR five times and find it to be much more spread out than Coronado.

I've stayed at Coronado Springs, and really enjoyed it. I like large, spread out resorts, gives me lots of room to walk off all the food I've eaten. :teeth:

The pool is awesome, and I believe the hot-tub is the largest on Disney property.

Another vote for the Corando we stayed there in September 2001 and really enjoyed the resort. The pool area is amazing. There was a convention going on when we were there but we only say the attendants in the main building.

We did not care for the food at Pepper Market, but we are not the kind of people to eat at the same place everyday anyway so we just found other places to eat.

Once again everyone, excellent feedback! Can't wait for Feb 28th so I can see it myself!:teeth:
