Corel anyone?

I got a free copy of Corel 6.0 with the purchase of a memory stick today, and it seems to be really easy to work with. I'm a novice at this and recently bought the Sony DSC-H5. I'd like to do more with the pics I take, and I've used Picasa, Adobe, and the Canon software, but the Corel seems to be easy to pick up and simple to learn. What do you all think?

Corel what 6.0?

Corel is the name of the company; they produce a range of software.

Corel makes several image products - Corel PhotoPaint, Corel Painter, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo Album. Which one did you get with your memory card?

It's the Photo Album. The others were offered at discounts with this, but I wanted to work with the Photo Album and get opinions on it before purchasing any of the others.

I don't have any experience with PhotoAlbum, but I have been using PhotoPaint for years, so I'm somewhat familiar with Corel products.

I went to Corel's web site and browsed some of the product information on PhotoAlbum. It looks like a nice little program, and is not very expensive at $39. I may just try it myself, since I'm always on the lookout for new software that will give me extra capabilities. If I do try it, I'll give you a review.

Did your version come with PhotoRecovery? That looks to be a very useful little utility; the Corel web site says that retail versions of PhotoAlbum include PhotoRecovery free.

No, mine didn't come with PhotoRecovery. I'm still learning how to use my new Sony H5 and we leave for WDW in 10 days. It's going to be fun playing with all the pics when we get back.
