Where was the best section to have your room? Any tips and tricks about the resort? Thanks in advance for any and all information!!!!:flower3:

We stayed a few weeks ago in casitas 3. We did not pay for a preferred room. I loved its location. We were the first bus stop, convenient to the food area, a short walk to the themed pool. If I returned I would request casitas 4 or 5 (nonpreferred).

Cabana 9B is also a great location. Only negative is that since it is so close to the main bus stop you tend to use that bus stop which is the last to pick up for most parks. So, that means standing room only mostly (when we were there). Might try Cabana 8 instead (also not far) and use that bus stop for better bus seat. You Just don't want Ranchos..

We were there the last week of May and were in Casitas 5. We received an upgrade to a water view room (having paid for a standard view). The location wasn't bad. We were relatively close to the Dig Site pool, Bus Stop 2 (which is the first bus stop picked up or dropped off for all routes except DTD/Typhoon Lagoon where it is the second stop), and not too far of a walk to El Centro.

There is a large thread devoted to Coronado which you might find helpful. Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2828206

My favorite is Cabanas 8a- close to the digsite pool, really close to a bus stop, and a pleasant walk (about 7 minutes, if I remember correctly?) to the lobby....

A lot depends on what your needs and likes are. We have stayed at CSR 4 times now and were there the first 2 weeks of June. Now I know I'm in the minority here, but we love the ranchos and that's what we requested. We've stayed in all 3 sections, but prefer the quiet ranchos area. We were in 7A - only steps from bus stop #3, the ranchos pool and laundry and maybe 6 minutes walk from El Centro (we walk fast, though...), very convenient. :)

I, too, love Cabanas and have always requested that area. But, like the above poster, I got placed in Ranchos 7A during my most recent trip. Once I got over the initial shock of not getting my request, I began to like Ranchos. 7A is close to a quiet pool, laundry, the Dig Site pool (where you can get your mugs filled, limited hours and selection), and bus stop #3. I'd still request Cabanas, but it just proved that no area is too bad.

For our stay in March we were in Casitas 4. It ended up being a great location--a quiet pool is right next door and the first bus stop is right behind the building. It is also the first Casitas building that is non-preferred, and so it was not a very long walk to the main building to refill our mugs.:)

OH and we are HOPEFULLY staying in the Cabanas during our July trip. We stayed in Casitas in 2010 and loved those, but it was sort of a walk from everything. We didn't mind the walk, but I don't know if you will. I heard Cabanas are preference for a lot of people! BUT- it all depends on what YOU like/want!

Another vote for Cabanas. We stayed in 8A and LOVED it...awesome location.

Thank you everyone! Lots of great info. We are looking for Quiet time, along with being not super far away from everything. I guess the most important things would be the quite and close to a stop that will allow us a seat. I will have a toddler in tow along with a stroller. I do know that can be a pain, but know it is just a ride. I am excited for Coranado

The casitas stop is the first stop picked up and dropped off when going to and from the parks. The park buses travel in this order - casitas, ranchos, cabanas, and El Centro. Downtown Disney buses travel El Centro, casitas, ranchos, then cabanas.

There are five buildings in the casitas - three are preferred buildings (casitas 1, 2 and 3), and two are by request (casitas 4 and 5). The casitas are relatively close to the main building and a bit farther to the main pool. The cabanas are closer to the main pool and farther to the main building (in general - there is a cabana building very close to the main building and farther from the pool). Ranchos are at the back of the resort and will be the farthest to the main building, but closer to the second stop picked up (ranchos stop - labeled bus stop #3 but the second picked up).

Our favorite is cabanas 8A - very close to the main pool but a bit farther to the main building. We will go to the pool every afternoon, but we don't go to the main building every day.

It is generally better to request an area (casitas, cabanas or ranchos) or close to what is important to you (close to main building, close to pool, close to bus stop) than to request a specific building. Many people request a section first with a preference for a building to give the room assigners a few more choices (cabanas with a preference for 8A, for example).

Keep in mind that even if you make a general request, you may not get the section you want. I had actually asked for the cabana section for our trip, and we were placed in casitas, which ended up being great anyway.

No request is ever guaranteed so try not to get too excited about any one room location. You may end up with one that fits your family even better!

:thumbsup2 I just love walking across the bridge to the food court. You're not far from the food court nor the main pool. I think we stayed at 9B.

That's where we stayed too, super close.
However, bussing at El Centro was almost always filled when it got there.

We were in Casitas 3...very convenient to El Centro which is what we wanted (note: this is considered a "preferred building", and we paid only for a standard room) ...very near the quiet pool...but not that close to the dig site, if that is important to you..

I love CSR and have stayed there ten times. My request is always exactly the same, "first floor Cabanas with a preference for Cabanas 8A'. However, as you know, requests are not always met. I've been in Casitas 1, Castitas 2, Ranchos 6A (just for one night until they could get me out of that area:rolleyes1), Cabanas 9B, Cabanas 9A, Cabanas 8B, and Cabanas 8A. The only locations I did not like were Casitas 2 and Ranchos 6A. Cabanas 8A is my favorite though. It's like a minute from the main pool, a minute from the bus stop 4 (the third stop), and less than five minutes from the main building. It's just perfect.:cloud9::rotfl: I've also had a perfect room in 8B this past May though. It was right on the end of the building facing the walkway between 8B and 9A, facing the laundry. We were less than a minute from the quiet pool and could have seen it from our window if the laundry wasn't in the way. We were right across the walkway from it, but didn't have to catch any of the noise from it.
