I had a friend say that CS is more of an adult resort, we loved the look online and my daughter is excited about the pool. We stayed at CB last year but they are fixing the main pool so we thought we would branch out. What do you guys think of this resort for kids (ages 6 and 1 ) :cheer2:

My nieces loved it when they were young (still do) It's got a great pool area and all the kids I saw there seemed to be having a great time!

People say it's more "adult" because of the convention center - but it has just as much for kids to see and do as the other moderates and it's a beautiful resort IMHO!

My son is a picky kid. I took him there when he was six and seven, he loved it.

And the bonus, for me, with the less than crowded busses was that we could wake up and be at a park in the short time of getting ready. There were never more than six people on a bus, but we never seemed to go at a busy time. When we came back it was the same.

He liked the themed pool and the pepper market, because of the chinese food.

We took our kids, 6 and 1 at the time, and they loved it. The pool was great and they have a sand pit and playground there too.

I was just there the beginning of the month and there were plenty of families there. They really seemed to enjoy the main pool, but there were plenty of children playing at the quiet pool in Casitas too.
To me, it seems like a resort that would appeal to any age group.

Our favorite moderate resort....DD was 5 1/2 and 12 when we stayed there and loved it. Best pool (and slide) of all the resorts we stayed at, and great food court for kids (and adults).

My boys were 6 and 11 when we stayed at CSR and they loved it. They liked the pool, the arcade, the lake. We were talking about it at dinner tonight.

My kids liked it. The 5yr old had a blast in the pool because of the slide. He also really liked the hot tub and play area. My 1yr old basically was clueless, but did enjoy sitting in the kiddie pool. We also stayed at ASMo that trip and while my son liked that hotel better because of the theming, he liked the pool and play area better at CSR.

None of the Disney resorts are 'adult' resorts. Every one of them is designed for families, with plenty to do for kids, and you'll see many, many kids there.

CSR is one of the resorts that has a convention center (I think the others are YC/BC, CR, GF and BW), so you'll often see some folks in business dress. Sometimes lots of them, sometimes not so many. Some people feel that this takes away from the 'vacation' atmosphere, but it's never bothered me.

This looks great -- a couple of questions:

1) Does CSR have a beach where kids can play in the sand, wade in the water, etc.?

2) Are the junior suites/parlor suites seperated by a closing door, or is it open all the time?

Thanks!

1) Does CSR have a beach where kids can play in the sand, wade in the water, etc.? CSR has a beach in the cabana section but there are two large sandboxes in the play ground area at the main pool.

2) Are the junior suites/parlor suites separated by a closing door, or is it open all the time? There is a door separating the two areas.

My kids love CSR! The main pool area is a big draw, but they also enjoy the boat/bike rentals and fishing from the marina.

My daughter is 8 and this Thanksgiving will be her 4th stay at CSR and she loves it. Actually she would rather stay at the pool than go to the parks. Great selection of food for kids as well.

:surfweb: We, myself, my wife, daughter, 12 and son 6 stayed at CSR in 2006 and will be returning this july 8th for 7 nights. We stayed at CB in 05 and chose CSR in 06 to try somthing new, having loved CB. We loved CSR too!, we ate a couple of meals there, (on the meal plan) and spent one evening at the pool, the kids really loved the pool and the slide. What I loved the most was the walk up coffee bar where i could get a cuppacino each morning!:stir:

I also thought that the buses :moped: were a little better to and from the parks from the CSR.

You will have a great trip at either resort:yay:

Our kids have not traveled with us our last five trips because they were either involved in their sports or off at college (our oldest last went in 2004 when he graduated high school--we took him and his then girlfriend; the youngest hasn't been since 2000). However, out of all the resorts we have stayed at with the kids, their favorite was by far the Coronado. They loved the sandbox, volleyball court, Dig Site pool, arcade, renting bikes, etc.

We were there last month and my two DS (6,9) loved the beach area in the Cabanas Section. However, swimming in the lake is not recommended:

The kids in our family love CSR !!!!
My DD14, DNieces 4, 6 ,9 ,11 and DNephews 9, 10, 11 absolutely LOVE the pool, pyramid, waterslide, hot tub, jungle gym, swings, sandboxes, arcade, fountains, giftshop . . . just everything !!!! :thumbsup2

First visit we won a trip to WDW and the resort was CSR, we loved it!! Last year we came for three weeks and split our stay between CSR and GF. Let me put this honestly to you, the transport at CSR is best, the breakfast at Maya Grill is best, the pool at CSR is best, the grounds at CSR are best. Only thing the GF won on was view of Cinderella's castle and the balconies in the rooms. Next year my children were given the choice of return to CSR and AKL - they voted for CSR.
DS was 5 first trip, 9 second and will be 10 next.
DD was 1 first trip, 5 last and will be 7 next.
Also the little play area at CSR is a bonus (and we have still never had the time to hire a bike!! still on their wish list.)

I'm glad to hear all of the positive responses. We are planning to visit CSR during our second visit to Disney in late June (first June visit is earlier in the month at POR beteen visits we are going to the Keys). We are planning on spending more time at the resort than in the parks relaxing around the pool. So many trips to Disney and we never seem to spend as much time around the resort as we have liked.

Just counting the days......
