Hi,

I am going on my first Disney Cruise on May 4th (1 week away!!) and I was wondering if I should book the Coral World and Island Drive on St. Thomas before I leave or if you think that I would have no problem booking this excursion on the ship? I'm not too concerned if I miss an excursion that I may want on St. Maarten because I mostly want to shop on that island, but as far as St. Thomas, my friend and I are interested in the Coral World and Island Drive one. I just wanted to know if you think this one would sell out before we sail?

Thanks!
Kathy

In December, we did that same excursion and really enjoyed it. It was really full, but I don 't know if most of them signed up after they were on the cruise. We signed up before. It was really nice - the views were really great and Coral World was cool. I actually got to pet a baby shark.

I think you should be OK waiting. Some excursions have a total capacity that can't be exceded. For example, once a catamaran is full, no one else can squeeze on, it's not safe. However the land trips that use busses [like the Coral World one], the trip operators can just add another bus if necessary. Also there is no reason why you couldn't just take a taxi to Coral World from the pier, if all else fails. You can go at your own pace, arrive and leave when you want.

I don't know about the Island Drive, but my dh, dd's did coral world/coki beach on our own. was very easy to get a taxi at the dock and back. We saved a bit of money doing it this way. I also had a discount coupon from the coral world web site. have fun!
