I just got a Ps at Coral Reef as a surprise for DH for our anniversary. (tried to get Le Cellier, but even the cincierge at AKL couldn't get that one-we'll be there next week).
Please tell me some good things about Coral Reef...

Arrive early for your PS and request a table right next to the fish. The food is very good, some stuff better than others (I remember a particularly icky fish cake years ago, but also wonderful fish dishes at other times). Their wine and cocktails are wonderful, and the desserts amazing both visually and taste wise. Service is usually pretty good, but not the best WDW has to offer, so be patient. The restaurant is lovely, very high tech. Look at all the wonderful glass in the waiting area.

I really enjoyed the lunch there. We sat by the tank and they made DD "chef for the day". She got dessert presented by the chef himself and the waiter was wonderful.
We all enjoyed our meals. I had haddock with twice baked potato which was wonderful and DG loved her lobster bisque. DH had the pirranha (sp?) and thought it tasted good but it is a boney fish so hard to eat. DD got the chicken off the kids menu and ate the whole thing which is a miracle for a 3 y.o. The chocolate wave is the best dessert! I think you will enjoy it. Mention your anniversary at the podium. I don't know what if anything they do but it can't hurt!

I would go to Coral Reef just for the Lobster Bisque....It is the best I have had anywhere. We sat next to the aquarium window, watching the fish swim by was very relaxing. Make sure you request that seating. It was great.::yes::

mamaTink, please report back about how it turns out. We are considering Coral Reef on our next trip. My in-laws loved a few years ago but I've heard others say it's lousy. I want to hear a recent review.

I've been a few times for lunch and I must say it's a can't-miss for me. I've always had great food and service there and I am an absolute seafood buff so I would know if it was lousy. The atmosphere? Can't. Be. Beat. Do you love the ocean? Then you will enjoy the Coral Reef.

I mean, it isn't Victoria & Albert's in terms of food, but I never had any complaints about poor food quality. As for those who think its too expensive, my husband and I will order a few appetizers or share an entree and an appetizer to keep costs down (I also don't think it's that expensive either....its Disney World, for pete's sake! Everything is expensive!)

Mmmmm, Lobster Bisque!!

We have been to the Coral reef on every trip and enjoyed it every time. Service has been good and the food is really fresh and inventive. It's a great place for just adults or families.
