This is one of the few restaurants we haven't tried yet, and I was thinking of doing lunch there. Any reviews? I know in the past it has gotten a 'bad rating' but I was wondering if perhaps it has improved? I thought it might be interesting to eat lunch next to the big aquarium....

Thanks!

Leslie

We had dinner at Coral Reef for the first time last August. I'm glad I didn't read all the bad reviews before we went, because we actually enjoyed it very much. DH and both had the Mahi Mahi in a ginger soy sauce I think, anyway it was very fresh and tender. They were extremely accomodating about substituting side dishes. DS and DD were entertained all through dinner checking off fish on a card provided by the waitstaff as they saw them swim by in the giant aquarium. I know the reviews here have been mixed, but IMO it was great!

We tried this restaurant for lunch on our recent (Jan 03) trip in spite of the reviews. We loved the atmosphere, and our 5yo grandson was enthralled by the aquarium- especially when a diver came over to the window and waved to him. The food was very good too. Go and enjoy!

We ate there over our honeymoon in early Feb. and loved it. It was one of our favorites:-) We sat right next to the aquarium and it kept us (me especially) entertained the entire time we were there. We both enjoyed our meals and really really enjoyed the chocolate wave for dessert. Have a good time!

We celebrated a birthday dinner there recently. All of our meals were very good. I had tuna with risotta and DH had the mahi mahi. Also had shrimp cocktail and lobster bisque. All very good. Very accomodating service as well. Not the cheapest place in the World but we spent almost as much at other venues that were not at the same level.

I was thinking of trying this restaurant too because we are staying at BC and can just walk there...

I have a really really picky child... anyone know what they have that is kid friendly?

She thinks we are trying to poison her and vegetable is a bad word.

Thanx

We ate there a couple of years ago and it was gross. I don't say that about many restaurants cause I love food. But the seafood was "fishy" and just gross. That's the only word I can use. Gross.

I have two picky eaters too and they always find something to their liking. I think the PB&J comes with the cheddar fish crackers. They both love the view here and actually want to go back each trip.

Lunch worked well for us (wife and daughter).
We had the one of the earliest seatings (11:15),
had a table right next to the aquarium, what
a spectacular place for a meal.

A little (ok, a lot) on the expensive side for
lunch, but what the hey, it's a vacation.:D :D

Hi wdwrich... thanx so much for finding and posting the kids menu... that was really helpful.

We've always loved Coral Reef. The atmosphere is great, love the view. They have many kid friendly meals, including our DD's favorite spaghetti. The chocolate wave is heaven on a dish. I wouldn't say it is the best place in EPCOT, but they have a ton more atmosphere.

We ate there last summer. Myself, DH and 3 DDs. The kids loved the view. They sat us next to the aquarium window and watched the divers feed the fish. It was beautiful. The food was great and the servers were very friendly. Oh, and be sure you try the chocolate wave. It awesome!

DS(11) and I had lunch there last week. We went around 2 without a PS and were seated immediately. We always try to eat lunch there instead of dinner. I have never had a bad meal or service. This trip DS had Lobster Bisque(lots of lobster in it!), catfish with grits(let me have only 1 bite because he adored it) and for dessert he had fudge souffle; we split a crab cake appetizer, I had the 3 lettuce salad with lime vinegarette(very tasty) and then I had MahiMahi with collards for my entree - collards were not done so I sent them back - not a problem - fresh steamed veggies were offered and delicious and I had to sorbet trio for dessert-very good. We were on the Silver Plan so we splurged and had everything we "really" wanted. We have enjoyed this restaurant for 8 years. Our server Liz was new and struggling but had such a great attitude we did not mind spending a little extra time in there.
